Majestic's Optimized Medieval (VR supported) is my second iteration of an authentic, engaging and optimized medieval experience in Minecraft through vanilla-friendly content mods, visual enhancements and QoL features out the wazoo.
Compared to my previous iteration, a FML modpack named "Majestic's Naval Expedition & Kingdoms" which is still being updated, many of the compatible mods were kept and in case there were no Fabric variants, alternatives were employed.
I did and am still doing my best to configure every mod to my liking, in favor of a mostly bug and inconvenience-free experience including performance optimizations and VR-specific fixes and enhancements.
Here is a small list of some of the more fundamental VR compatibility additions put in place by me:
- The minimap is correctly positioned above the hotbar and had its settings modified specifically for VR.
- Origins' primary ability keybind was properly bound (double-tap Y button on Quest controllers, should work for other motion controllers)
- Swapping with offhand used to be slow and inconvenient. It has been rebound to double-tap B and should work fine.
- Two new buttons were added to the game menu: VC menu and Origins info, displaying interfaces that were otherwise inaccessible.
New things are still being added every odd day or so. I also intend this modpack to be used in a personal server, enhancing performance even further by running a fabric modpack on a dedicated server.
