Magicks Galore! has a highly customized world generation (powered by Terraforged), incorporating many biomes from multiple mods, such as Biomes O' Plenty and Oh The Biomes You'll Go. There are also many new animals to find (and tame or kill, your choice), many new monsters to slay, and best of all, multiple new ways to move, from some epic parkour to grappling hooks.

Powered by FTB Quests, Magicks Galore! has a quest system that rewards you for the completion of certain quests, which are also designed to help you advance in the game. There is also an MMORPG-type experience system that forces you to take your time through the pack, making it very engaging and long-lasting.

There are multiple tool-creation mods that urge you to upgrade, and while some may not want to, move away from the standard player's Tinker's Construct and try new mods like Silent Gear and Tetra. There is also a completely revamped and detailed HUD and inventory showing much more information, such as what Curios you have on or how much durability your armor has.

The heart of this pack is the magic. Exploring the world, or scrolling through the mod list, experienced players may see some familiar names and new players may see some intimidating ones. There are many old-but-gold mods in this pack, such as Botania and Astral Sorcery, but also some you may not have heard of, like Feywild, Mana and Artifice, Mahou Tsukai, Roots, Hexerei, and Theurgy. There's some form of supernatural for everyone!
