Description

Server is open for Chapter II, V1.0.6

Be sure to use the Curse Launcher to download the latest Loyal Craft release!

Loyal Craft's goal is to provide a unique, beautiful, and deadly world while balancing difficulty, immersion, exploration, fantasy, and realism while staying loyal to the freedom of vanilla Minecraft. This world will test your skills as you explore its vast and beautiful landscape, delve into ruins and dungeons, and challenge its unforgiving monsters while you fight to survive. In this unforgiving world, you can do, or be anything you want to be. Want to be a proud warrior that fights off hordes of the undead? Certainly. How about a lone wizard, delving into otherworldly powers to rule the land? Of course. Or how about an engineer, crafting and molding the world as you see fit, building an unstoppable fortress to withstand the threats that lie beyond its walls? The story is yours to tell.

Starting Tips & Controls

This Pack now includes a quick-start tutorial as of Chapter II which will teach you the basics! However if you want to learn more, take a look at this list.

Gravel can be crafted into flint!

Twine can be crafted into brown wool, sticks and flint shards in a crafting table can be crafted into twine.

The Pyrotechnic Esoterica can be crafted with plant fibers at any time.

ays and Nights are three times longer than vanilla, this applies to seasons also!

Too cold? Campfires, lava, wool clothes, heating coils, liners and enchants can help!

Too hot? Bathing in water, slime clothes, cold climates, enchants and cooling coils can help!

Coordinates have been removed from the debug menu, craft a compass to see your location.

A compass will always point North!

When you die without setting a spawn, you will revive randomly in the world. Be sure to craft a bed!

A chopping block can be crafted with an axe and a wood log. Chopping logs turns them into planks, and planks into slabs.

Keeping your hunger up allows you to slowly regain health over time. However, exceptionally low health reduces this by half.

Locational damage can be fatal, if your body or head loses all its health you will die instantly.

Armors protect that part of your body. Helmets and Chestplates are the most important!

You can slowly regain health with bandages and plaster. But Healing Magic and Potions are much more effective!

There are seven schools of magic, all of which specialize in AOE damage and support.

Firearms have the highest single-target damage and longest range. Line up your crosshair for pinpoint accuracy.

When you die, you will leave a grave with your items inside. Be careful, there is a chance some might disappear forever.

People who do not block, dodge, or parry often do not usually survive.

Press shift while in midair to grab onto walls, you can also jump off them and onto another!

Soul bound enchants are rare and can only be found in dungeons.

Liners can be attached (crafted) to armors to provide heat and cold resistance.

There is nothing wrong with running away from a fight you cannot win.

A Decobench allows you to craft advanced furniture and decorations.

Dungeons should only be attempted once you reach the iron age!

Dragon Bones only drop in dungeons or defeated dragons.

Harvested crops yield some exp.

Some items can be scavenged in dirt and gravel using a shovel. Higher grade shovels give more loot!

Hoes can be enchanted with fortune and can yield more crops!

Pack too hard? Nothing wrong with practicing on peaceful!

Healing magic is super effective against the undead.

Witches buff the monsters around them, and spiders can trap you in webs!

Creepers can change color depending on the soil they are on.

Be sure to read up on the mods Animania, Immersive Engineering, and read your Esoterica!

Crouch and Right-Click to drink from bodies of water. Purified water, rainwater, or juice works better!

Canteens can be used to store water. Be sure to carry one around!

Press B to open your baubles menu to equip rings, belts, capes and necklaces.

It's recommended to hunt and forage early game, many bushes drop unique seeds and trees often bear fruit.

Keep mobs at a distance by using a long-reach weapon, such as a spear or pike!

There are a wide variety of potions, from warp, armor buffs, and even immortality!

Any item can be searched in the right inventory menu. Click to see how it's crafted, and right-click to see what it can be made into!

Use dried fibers to craft twine which can be crafted into brown wool.

Sleeping bags are great for travel, they only need wool to craft and will not set your spawnpoint.

Hippogryphs, a bird-horse hybrid, can be tamed with rabbit's feet when left on the ground in front of them!

Dragons can sometimes spawn deep underground in treasure-filled caves. Beware, many players who wake them don't live to tell about it.

Quickly dodge by quickly double pressing a directional key, this doesn't make you invincible however, so timing is crucial!

Pit Kilns can be used to smelt cobblestone down in the early game and can be used to make more efficient stone kilns.

Blazes explode upon death, be sure to keep your distance!

Some monsters are resistant to elemental spells, such as blazes and dragons.

Larger weapons have a longer cooldown between successful hits, while shorter weapons barely have one.

Dual-wielding weapons allows you to swing with both hands, doubling your attack. You can even parry between attacks like this!

Crossbows are the larger, stronger versions of longbows. However, they take longer to charge and cost more for ammunition.

You can strip enchants from a weapon with a disenchanting table and place them into a book. You can even do it with books too!

Bulk Disenchanters will strip weapons of all their enchants, while regular disenchanters will only strip the topmost enchant.

Wearing armor that covers a particular part of your body will protect that part from damage. Wear a helmet and chestplate to prevent dying instantly!

Pit kilns can be used to smelt ores in the ground. Stone kilns are twice as effective than furnaces, but only smelt ore.

Stone ovens can be crafted to cook food and are twice as effective than furnaces.

Refractory ovens, kilns, and crucibles are twice as effective than their stone counterparts.

Higher grade axes are more efficient, yield more wood, and use less hunger when chopping wood on a chopping block.

Saws can be crafted to cut a bulk of wood at once. They do not use any hunger to use and can cut up to 8 blocks at once.

The damage model has four color stages for different body parts: green signifying full health, yellow slightly damaged, orange critical, and red crippled.

Vanilla damage enchantments have three tiers: normal, advanced, and supreme.

You can combine two different enchantments onto a single book in an anvil or raise the level of an enchantment if you combine two of the same kind.

Silverfish have a chance of splitting in two when attacked, either squash them instantly or do not attack them at all to avoid a horde!

Zombies can find you from a long distance and will break your torches if things are too bright.

Dried Plant Fiber->Twine->Brown Wool->String->White Wool!

Stone worktables never break, can stack crafting items, and require less hunger than their wood counterparts.

Some weeds will spread over time and drop unique seeds when harvested.

Some crops will only grow at certain times in the year. However, crops can grow anytime if placed in a greenhouse and under greenhouse glass.

Happier farm animals will yield better product, such as giving pigs mud to roll around in, giving food and water, and providing plenty of grazing areas.

Troughs can be used to feed animals and can hold multiple stacks of food or water. You can also place seeds on the ground for your chickens too!

Sneaking and clicking a worktable with an empty hand will remove all the materials placed on it.

Sneaking and clicking a worktable while holding a hammer will allow you to craft the same item over and overusing materials from your inventory.

Drying racks perform better and faster than their crude counterparts. They can also hold 4 items at once.

Need to move water but do not have iron? Craft a stone, clay, or wooden bucket!

A bloomery is required to create iron and slag. To use one, place iron ore into it and then a fuel source on top, then ignite it.

Blooms are hot, molten blocks of ore created in bloomeries. They can be collected with tongs and placed on the floor or an anvil. Hammer them to collect their ore!

The quality of the fuel used in bloomeries affects their production speed. The lowest being coal flakes, the highest being living tar.

Although furnaces produce ore faster than a bloomery, they do not yield as much. Slag can be reused to produce more ore, and blooms produce 10 or more nuggets.

Fortune enchants on hammers decrease the chances a bloom will weaken. Fortune III nearly makes them unbreakable!

When hammering a bloom for ore, refrain from holding down right-click. Instead, click and collect your items before trying again. It can be much faster!

Harvesting a bloom should be done on a stone or iron-clad anvil as the hot ore can melt weaker blocks below it and start fires!

Blooms can be extracted from the top of a bloomery when the ash is cleared, be sure to use tongs!

Ovens can cook food and dry product like a drying rack or campfire but do so much faster and use less fuel.

Kilns can be used to refine cobble into stone, sand into glass, wood chips to charcoal flakes, or harden unfinished brick or clay materials.

Crucibles can be used to melt ice and snow into water, clay into liquid clay, and tar bales into wood tar.

Stone crucibles cannot hold lava and will break when doing so.

Compacting bins can combine fragments into their block variants, such as lapis to lapis blocks, grass clumps to grass, and slag into slag heaps.

Crucibles produce a waste called slag which can be collected and compacted in a compacting bin and used again in a crucible to produce another bloom.

Bonemeal can be made by smashing bone shards on an anvil, and shards by smashing bone.

Mulch, a superior bonemeal, can be used on tilled soil to give it a passive bonemeal effect.

Draft horses may be slow, but they can pull heavy loads easier than regular horses.

Wagons and covered wagons have a difficult time going through tall grass, ferns, and flowers. Be sure to clear a trail!

Press "L" to level your passive skills which grant bonuses like faster bow drawback, faster mining, or even random critical damage!

Headshots can deal massive damage by either using bows, crossbows, magic, or firearms!

Killing more naturally spawned zombies at night will increase the number that spawn around you, beware of provoking the horde!

Over time, more powerful mobs will spawn as well as many new ones. This is also dependent on which biome you're in!

Daggers can penetrate armor completely when undetected.

Note on Performance

Everything is customizable and you're free to copy, change, and add anything you see fit. I try to optimize the modpack as much as possible, however performance drops are still common when loading new chunks, especially huge forests/dungeons. If you want to improve performance, consider disabling/tweaking the BetterFoliage mod or your graphics settings. Installing Optifine can also improve your performance dramatically!
