This modpack is built to be flexible: players can easily adapt the experience to their hardware and preferences with just a few in-game settings.

🧭 Available Editions

🔹 Standard Edition

The core Vanilla+ experience.
Ideal for players who want a polished vanilla feel with improved visuals, better ambiance, and performance-friendly enhancements — all without overcomplicating gameplay.

Shaders can be enabled or disabled at any time by pressing the K key, allowing players to instantly adjust performance based on their system.

🔹 Distant Horizons Edition

An advanced version that includes Distant Horizons, enabling extremely long render distances for a more immersive sense of scale and exploration.

This edition is recommended for high-end PCs or players willing to tweak settings to achieve stable performance. A powerful system is required to maintain 60 FPS or more.

🔹 Multiplayer Edition (In Progress)

This edition is currently under development and will evolve from the existing Voice Chat Edition.
It is focused on enhancing social gameplay, including proximity voice chat and multiplayer-oriented optimizations.

🔄 Removed Editions & Why

To simplify maintenance and offer a more flexible experience, the following editions have been discontinued:

• Low Edition
  Removed because disabling shaders with a single key press (K) already provides a massive performance boost. With shaders off, most PCs should be able to run the modpack smoothly.

• No Shaders Edition
  Removed for the same reason — shaders can be toggled on or off instantly, making a separate edition unnecessary.

• Extreme & Cinematic Editions
  These editions were purely configuration-based variants of the Distant Horizons Edition.
  Due to limited time for long-term maintenance, they have been removed. Any user can easily recreate these visual presets with just a few clicks by adjusting shaders and settings within the Distant Horizons Edition.

This approach keeps the modpack cleaner, easier to maintain, and more user-driven.

Minecraft’s new frequent mini-update release format has made mod and modpack maintenance more challenging — not only for this project, but for many creators on CurseForge. Constant game changes often require waiting for mod updates before releasing new versions.

Because of this, Lorux’s Vanilla+ will be updated gradually.
