Update 1.2.0 – Compatibility & Stability Update
Version 1.2.0 is a major technical and compatibility update for Living World.
This release focuses on making the huge Create, industry, colony, technology and adventure ecosystem work together more reliably while keeping as much of the existing content and functionality as possible.
🧩 NEW – LivingCompat 2.1.0
Added our new custom compatibility and improvement mod:
LivingCompat 2.1.0
LivingCompat has been developed specifically for the large and complex mod environment of Living World.
Main goals include:
- Improved compatibility between installed mods
- Better handling of recipe conflicts
- Improved accessibility of crafting and processing chains
- Detection of conflicting or problematic recipes
- Improved compatibility between shared materials and tags
- Additional cross-mod compatibility handling
- Better protection against recipes becoming inaccessible because of another mod
- Additional validation of mod interactions
- Improved stability in a very large mod environment
- Better diagnostics for compatibility-related problems
- Reduction of unnecessary compatibility warnings where a safe solution is possible
Compatibility logic is now handled through our dedicated LivingCompat mod instead of relying on modified third-party mod files.
This provides a cleaner and more maintainable foundation for future updates.
🧹 NEW – LivingWorld Log Cleanup 1.0
Added the custom:
LivingWorld Log Cleanup 1.0
This datapack helps clean up problematic or unnecessary data entries and complements the new compatibility system.
Its purpose is to:
- Reduce unnecessary log noise
- Clean up known problematic data entries
- Improve datapack/resource handling
- Reduce avoidable warnings
- Improve overall pack cleanliness
- Make important errors easier to identify
- Support the stability improvements introduced with 1.2.0
Warnings and errors are not simply hidden—the goal is to remove or correct unnecessary causes where possible.
⚙️ Compatibility Improvements
Version 1.2.0 includes extensive compatibility work across the modpack.
Improved areas include:
- Create and the large Create addon ecosystem
- Cross-mod crafting
- Processing recipes
- Shared material tags
- Duplicate or overlapping recipes
- Technology integrations

The goal is to make sure that content from different mods remains usable even when several mods provide similar recipes or materials.

Additional work has been done to prevent recipes from becoming inaccessible because of conflicts.
This includes improvements for:
- Duplicate crafting inputs
- Conflicting recipes
- Alternative recipe paths
- Shared material handling
- Tag-based ingredients
- Cross-mod ingredients
- Machine processing chains
Where compatibility adjustments are required, the goal is to preserve the original gameplay and functionality of the affected mods.

The enormous Create ecosystem received additional compatibility and integration work.
This includes improvements around:
- Create addons
- Factory systems
- Logistics
- Trains
- Automation
- Processing
- Storage
- Power and energy integrations
- Create-based transportation
- Create/MineColonies interaction
- Cross-addon recipe compatibility
Numerous Create-related components have also been reviewed, adjusted or updated for the new pack version.

The long-term goal remains a world in which colonies, factories and transportation networks function as connected systems instead of isolated features.

Several internal improvements were made to provide a more reliable base for large and long-running worlds.

- Datapack cleanup
- Reduced unnecessary warnings

Additional cleanup has been performed throughout the pack.

🛠 Custom Living World Components
Version 1.2.0 now includes dedicated components developed specifically for the modpack:
LivingCompat 2.1.0 Compatibility, recipe handling, validation and integration improvements.
LivingWorld Log Cleanup 1.0 Datapack cleanup and reduction of unnecessary/problematic data warnings.
These components will continue to be expanded in future Living World releases.
⚠️ Important
Living World contains a very large number of independently developed mods and Create addons.
Version 1.2.0 significantly improves compatibility and provides a much stronger foundation for the pack, but isolated incompatibilities may still exist.
If you encounter a reproducible problem, please provide the relevant latest.log, debug.log or crash report whenever possible.
