Better With Friends! is a 1.20.1 Forged variety pack with a focus on adventure and exploration. It was made with the intention of having a group of friends band together to explore dangerous new dimensions, take down increasingly difficult bosses and build unique structures, creating wonderful communities along the way with an assortment of decorations and furniture to spruce up your builds.

This pack is rather demanding so remember to allocate extra RAM to your game! (I recommend around 6 GBs)

This is my first attempt at designing and uploading a usable modpack for others so some aspects of the pack may be a little bit basic.

Any mods mentioned below will be in bold. Credit to the wonderful mod makers out there that made the mods found in this pack!

Start your journey by choosing from a selection of Origins that each give special abilities and drawbacks. As you play, gain some small bonus stats with Pufferfish's Attributes & Skills. Currently the only skill trees available are the default combat and mining, but new/improved skill trees may come in the future!

The world generation mods used in this pack are Terralith and Tectonic, creating vastly different landscapes compared to those you would find in vanilla and adding many new biomes to explore. Within the world you'll find all of YUNG's revamped vanilla structures such as YUNG's Better Dungeons, YUNG's Better Strongholds and YUNG's Better Mineshafts, along with new ancient structures from Better Archeology where you can dig up new fossils and find special artifacts. You'll also find some structures from the Let's Do series with [Let's Do Addon] Structures.

Begin your adventure by seeking out a village bounty board and fulfilling some of Bountiful’s customised quests for various rewards. These rewards include a special set of coins from Create: Numismatics that can’t otherwise be obtained - the perfect currency for player trading!

Beware the Savage Ender Dragon, who has been revamped with a few new abilities and a scaling difficulty based on the number of players. If you're still in the mood to fight, you can battle new bosses in the Overworld, Nether and End courtesy of L_Ender's Cataclysm.

If you're growing tired of the vanilla dimensions, why not revisit old classics like The Aether or The Twilight Forest, or check out more recent additions including Blue Skies and The Undergarden. Those looking for a challenge can brave Deeper and Darker and The Abyss II - The Other Side, provided they have done ample preparation and aren't afraid of the dark.

Use water wheels and windmills to power functional factories, drills for mining and large railway networks, to name a few things, with this pack's main tech mod, Create. Craft a rocket to take you up to space in Ad Astra, where you can then build a space base and explore various planets (just make sure you have enough oxygen!).

With Mekanism, you can get more bang for your buck out of your ores with various advanced machines and automate all of your mining and crafting needs. Create data models on hostile mobs and use predictions made with those models to fabricate all the mob drops you need in Hostile Neural Networks.

Start fulfilling your storage needs with drawers from Functional Storage and bigger chests and barrels from Sophisticated Storage. It couldn't hurt to craft a backpack from Sophisticated Backpacks early on to help carry all those modded items! Once you're ready, upgrade your storage with Refined Storage and Applied Energistics 2. With these you'll be able to avoid those massive inconvenient vanilla chest units and access all your items in one place!

All these tech mods need some serious power generation, and Powah! has just the right tools for the job. Build one of the many power generators available, then store and transfer that energy to wherever you need it.

Collect resources and spells from dungeons and structures in the RPG-style Iron Spells 'n Spellbooks. You could also create your own unique spells for any situation, craft magical artifacts and perform rituals with Ars Nouveau.

Craft an array of powerful but challenging-to-get artifacts from Reliquary Reincarnations or brew new OreSight potions with Potions Master.

Craft magical Pylons that can offer a variety of effects from preventing mob spawns, to applying potion effects to auto-harvesting nearby crops. Grow a garden full of essences to produce the resources you need with Mystical Agriculture.

Build up an empire, hire an army of citizens and defend from raiders looking to pillage your lands with Minecolonies!

There are various tools to help you in your building exploits with Building Gadgets and Construction Wand. Larger builds just got easier!

 The main farming mods found in this pack are Croptopia and Farmer’s Delight. Together they provide almost 100 new crops to be grown which can be cooked into hundreds of hearty meals in functional kitchens from Cooking for Blockheads.

With Serene Seasons, crops will grow at different rates throughout the year, forcing you to diversify what you are growing in order to maintain a steady food supply. If you’re having trouble finding the right seeds, Farming for Blockheads adds a market for seeds and saplings along with other useful craftable farming items.

The Let’s Do series adds new consumables and processes to create them. Brew a range of alcohols in [Let’s Do] Brewery and turn grapes into fine wines in [Let’s Do] Vinery. Bake breads and pastries in huge ovens with [Let’s Do] Bakery or relax on the beach with cocktails and ice cream in [Let’s Do] Beachparty. Explore the overhauled meadow biomes filled with new mobs and make your own cheese in [Let’s Do] Meadow!

You’re encouraged to try and make the wide variety of available foods in this pack through Spice of Life: Carrot Edition while trying to keep a balanced diet with Diet in order to gain powerful bonuses.

Create your own personalised look with All The Trims, which lets you use any item as trim materials for any armour! Paint your own custom paintings with Joy Of Painting to give your walls a personal touch.
