Description
KeegleCraft is a moderately-sized modpack for 1.12.2 which primarily focuses on adventure and exploration.
Endgame adventure difficulty and rewards are greatly enhanced through mods like Ice and Fire: Dragons, Roguelike Dungeons, Mowzie's Mobs, Atum 2, and Twilight Forest. Having two well-polished alternate dimension mods is a good compromise between having too much bloat which players may never actually see and having no unique endgame experiences, and Unloader reduces the lag generated by unoccupied dimensions.
Being an adventure and exploration modpack, worldgen is heavily prioritized. Mods like Biomes O' Plenty, Biome Bundle, NetherEx, Recurrent Complex, Streams, and YUNG's Better Caves and Mineshafts create breathtaking procedural worlds. To get the best worldgen results, remember to create an OTG world and select BBOP.
While players adventure, they'll run across loads of new animals from Better Animals Plus, Aquaculture 2, and Exotic Birds. These packs give a good assortment of new land, air, and sea mobs without going overboard.
The player is going to need more power to face sprawling dungeons, dragons, boss fights, and alternate dimensions. Be on the lookout for Electroblob's Wizardry spells, which are found in chests throughout the world. This magic will greatly increase player power, but don't forget to mine or farm magic crystals as well! And if magic isn't your style, suit up with Spartan Weaponry and Spartan Shields.
With 70+ mods running concurrently, it's important to improve optimization and reduce game lag. BetterFPS, FastFurnace, FastWorkbench, FoamFix, Phosphor, and VanillaFix work together to accomplish this goal.
This modpack has a secondary focus on domestic life, or the spoils of adventure. The player can build reputation with culturally diverse villages from Millenaire, eventually gaining the ability to construct a village themselves! And decorative and silly packs like Rustic, Doggy Talents, Respawnable Pets, and Fairy Lights make the downtime between adventures more fun. Of course, more decorative packs could have been added, but there is a worry about bloat or having too many mods. I recommend installing Decocraft and Macaw's packs if you want more decoration.
The mod also includes small quality-of-life mods and accessories such as Anvil Patch- Lawful, Carry On, Comforts, Corail Tombstone, Inventory Tweaks, JEI and JER, Morpheus, Wither Skeleton Tweaks, Neat, NetherPortalFix, Antique Atlas, AppleSkin, AstikorCarts, Baubles, Craftable Horse Armor & Saddle, Inventory Pets, Iron Chests, Quality Tools, and Waystones.
My settings recommendations:
If you're having FPS issues, respawning blocks, unresponsive mobs, etc., try reducing the render distance.
In the Ice and Fire: Dragons config, make dragon spawns 4x more rare, and increase the radius from your spawnpoint that they can't spawn in to 500.
Reduce the spawnrate of Recurrent Complex buildings to 0.1 in the config.
Have fun!
