Just Horsing Around 2 Alpha

A collection of deep immersion mods focusing on Create addons, Apotheosis, and many cooking mods

You are entering testing grounds! Bugs and errors are possible, including crashes, logical inconsistencies, recipe dupes, placeholders, debug functions and much more, development is in progress.

I don't have anyone helping me with the development of this modpack, so the updates are slow, and I probably miss a lot of bugs because I don't have enough time for testing.


 

This modpack is based on the first Just Horsing Around for Fabric, a modpack that was never released. The differences are in a large number of optimization and QoL mods, which did not exist at that time, a return to forge, and many, many new mods. At the same time, the structure has remained unchanged, there is a little magic, technology, and a lot of steampunk... and even more food.

 

  • Food module, let's call it the yummy module! It has Cooking for Blockheads and Farmer's Delight with all the available add-ons. Croptopia and Aquaculture 2 also promote cooking. There are Brewery and Vinery mods from the "Let's do" series, allowing you to role-play as a producer of classic spirits. And finally, you can try all the worthwhile dishes to increase your health. And amethyst apples! They are so beautiful, shiny, obviously delicious, trust me ;o
  • Magic module, based on Apotheosis, Celestial and the Iron's Spells n' Spellbooks mod with a couple of compatibility addons. Collect scrolls, fight apothic bosses, find or create magic-imbued equipment, inlay gems that give your equipment special abilities. Reworked interaction with experience and repair of items, now mending does not repair the item, but clears its repair/enchantment history and resets the number of required levels, still allowing you to use the item forever
  • Adventure module it's a lot of changes to world generation, new biomes and locations, creatures from Friends and Foes, trial chambers from 1.21. Lots of mobs to tame and fight, lots of dungeons to loot, lots of biomes and nature changes to explore provided by a whole bunch of mods, new ways to travel long and short distances and even a few new dimensions.
  • Technology module based on the Create mod and its 50+ small and massive addons, this pack covers both early steampunk technology and pretty close to it in modern industry, believe me, there are reactors, there are lasers, there is energy. Custom recipes will sooner or later cover all possible ways to recycle useless blocks to give them a second life. Recycle the entire world into crushing wheels, with a specific purpose and automatically.
  • Another group of mods can provide the player with more options for entertainment, character customization, and a whole host of changes aimed at interactions between players, such as pinging objects in the world and reviving injured friends, voluntary PvP, currency-based trading, playing musical instruments, and much more.

Upcoming changes:

  • More playable quests, new quest types
  • New recipes expanding Create recycling
  • (In progress) Focusing the player's attention on Create and its add-ons
  • (In progress) Reworking the museum chapter into a full quest category, the current chapter will be called the repository, and the main chapter of the museum will be the "museum codex" where you collect items in the category of similar exhibits and as soon as you examine the last exhibit in the collection, you will receive a collection related reward

Known serious issues:

  • (Always) Endermans lose aggression when damaged by the player, behave very phlegmatically. May apply to other neutral mobs
  • (Always) The direction of dodges in the modded third person camera mode is unstable
  • (Rare) Problem with chunk generation sometimes stopping the server tick even on low settings and a large amount of allocated RAM, probably the problem is in one or more conflicting worldgen mods.
  • (Very rare) Sometimes when exiting to the main menu , the game can get stuck on "Saving world..."
  • (Very rare) Unstable client startup observed in rare cases, usually a restart helps. This is so rare that the cause has not yet been discovered

Minor issues:

  • There are many trash items (automatically generated also) that are not applicable anywhere, their recipes will be removed or ways of using will be added later. The same goes for duplicates. Yes, yes, I'm talking about you, copper nugget, all copper nuggets!

Misc:

  • To use this modpack, 3.5-4.2 GB RAM is currently recommended.
  • It is recommended to use chunks pregen (/pregen start gen) if you are going to travel a lot. Also, this will make the game more stable on low-end systems.
