# Jeff and Miku's Adventures Origins 11.0 - The New World Update
*Coming from 10.0? Back up your world first, and read "Updating a world from 10.0" at the bottom.*
*Heads up: 11.0 is heavier than 10.0. Give the game at least 8 GB in the CurseForge app's settings.*
This one's big. There's a real progression now, a quest book, a new origin pack with 125 origins, new biomes, railways that build themselves, and a lot of fixes. Here's what changed.
## The Frontier
You don't get the whole world on day one anymore. You climb seven circles, and each one opens more of it.
- You start in the Circle of Stone. Hold a diamond and you're in Embers. Then a blaze rod (Ash), walk into the Twilight Forest (Thorns), walk into the Aether (Clouds), be there when the Ender Dragon dies (Void), and finally reach the Otherside (Echoes). `/frontier` tells you where you are, and the Pilgrim's Compass tells you what's next.
- Realms open as you go: the Nether at Embers, the Twilight Forest at Ash, the Aether and Deep Aether at Thorns, the End at Clouds, and every other modded realm at Void. Sneak in early and you get sent back to your last safe spot in the Overworld.
- Gear works the same way. Netherite, relics and trinkets at Ash, Apotheosis gear and the best Ice and Fire gear at Clouds or Void, Cataclysm and Mowzie's boss gear at Echoes. Sealed items drop at your feet and wait for you. They're never destroyed.
- There's a quest book now (FTB Quests): 18 chapters and 277 quests. The circles, evolution, relic hunting, a full Create path up to trains, rebirth and prestige, 165 side quests, and a Guide chapter if you get lost.
- Loot chests can have Arcane Fragments. Put four around a diamond for a Reliquary, and open it at Ash for a random relic or trinket.
- Your origin levels up as you kill mobs: Evolved, Ascended, then Apex.
- Climbed every circle, killed the dragon and evolved your origin far enough? `/rebirth` lets you start over stronger, with extra hearts, Echo rewards and heirlooms. You pick what you keep.
- You'll earn a bunch of unique tools along the way, like the Miner's Lantern, Ember Flask, Homeward Stone, Featherfall Plume, Mirror of Last Breath and Echo Bell. Their cooldowns show in the tooltip.
- You get The Frontier Handbook every life, with the whole guide in it. Lost it? `/frontier handbook`.
## Origins
- New origin pack, Wayfarers of the Circles, with 125 origins. Among them are the Engineer (with Track Layer), Mochi and the Underling. Mochi and the Underling get their own Figura avatars automatically.
- The Underling is a little grey deep miner, about one block tall, so you fit through one-block gaps. You start with an iron pickaxe and get Stone Skin (+4 armor), Dark Sight, 50% faster mining underground and 25% harder hits with a pickaxe. The Drill bores a 3x3 tunnel 3 blocks deep (pickaxe in hand, 30 s cooldown), and Shadow Cloak hides you in the dark. The catch: you only eat meat, cobblestone and cobbled deepslate, and the sun makes you hungrier and slower. The avatar is a goggled gnome with a lantern and a pickaxe. Use the Figura action wheel to push the goggles up or change the look. The avatar only shows in your own game, so other players see the avatar you've uploaded.
- Origins++ is gone from the pack. If your origin was from Origins++, you'll get to pick a new one when you join. Your class and background stay.
- Origin abilities are on V, G, N and B, and your class ability is on H. Cooldowns show above the hotbar.
## Difficulty
- Four levels: Easy, Normal, Hard and Brutal. The host sets it with `/frontier difficulty` or in `config/frontier.json`. Normal feels close to vanilla in your first life, and mobs get tougher as you prestige.
- You can also set your own with `/frontier mydifficulty easy`, `normal`, `hard` or `brutal` (or `world` to follow the world). That changes how strong mobs near you are, how hard they can hit you, your Second Wind and your rewards. Tool cooldowns, hearts and rebirth requirements still follow the world. Server owners decide which levels are allowed (`player_difficulty` in `config/frontier.json`).
- Builders and fighters can share a server. A new mob takes the lowest difficulty of the players within 64 blocks, so if you're on Easy, the mobs that spawn near you come at Easy strength even with a friend on Brutal next to you. No mob hits you harder than your own level allows, and on Easy, mob explosions near you don't break blocks.
- Harder pays better. Fragment chance, reward amounts, mob XP and mob drops are x0.8 on Easy, x1 on Normal, x1.2 on Hard and x1.4 on Brutal, for both the world difficulty and your own. A kill pays out at the lower of the mob's level and yours, and follows how tough the mob really was.
- No cheesing it: a higher difficulty only starts paying more after 30 minutes of actual play on it (offline time doesn't count, and the same goes when the host raises the world difficulty). You can't drop your difficulty mid-fight, and you can only change it once a minute.
- Single drops, gear, boss loot, piglins' items and whatever a mob was holding are never multiplied or reduced.
- Apotheosis world tiers (Haven to Pinnacle) are still there if you want even higher stakes.
## Gameplay
- New: Second Wind, Circle Celebration and Well Rested. You can turn each off in `config/frontier.json`.
- There's a Controls page in the guide, and a one-time fix for clashing keybinds. Origin info moved to Alt+O, origin night vision to Alt+K and Figura's menu to Alt+P, so Iris keeps O and K and Essential's emote wheel keeps R. Keys you changed yourself are left alone.
- No more Aeronautics ship dupes with item drains or Copycats+ buttons and pressure plates. The assembler now leaves those blocks in place and builds the ship around them. Server owners can edit the list (`aeronautics` in `config/frontier.json`).
- Better Combat moves for 5 more weapons: Pig Slayer (Aether), Dreadwake (Aquamirae), Blazing Cleaver (Create Stuff 'N Additions), Bonemore (Eternal Starlight) and Brontes (Cataclysm). Server owners can turn this off (`better_combat` in `config/frontier.json`).
- Supplementaries candle holders now give 2 Arcana each at an Apothic enchanting table.
## World
- Five cherry biomes: Cherry Coast, Blossom River, Cherry Blossom Forest, Blossom Plains and Sakura Meadow, in new land (switch: `worldgen.cherry_biomes`).
- Create: Infinite Railways builds train lines and stations across new land.
- Vanilla Backport adds copper golems, copper tools and armour, parched skeletons, camel husks, nautilus with drowned riders, zombie horses, spears (some mobs spawn holding them), modern leashes and the Dappled Forest biome (in new land). You can switch each one off in its config.
- Alex's Caves biomes are much easier to find. Toxic Caves, Candy Cavity and Primordial Caves show up a lot more, and all six biomes are closer together (about every 1,200 blocks instead of 2,000), in new land.
- Structures don't spawn inside each other anymore, and unlike No Structure Overlap this doesn't delete shipwrecks, ocean ruins, ruined portals or dungeons to do it (see the fix mod below).
- The same seed now gives the same biomes every time.
## Ascension Stability Fixes 1.3.0 (new)
The pack's own fix mod, installed from CurseForge with everything else. It handles the structure spacing and the fixed biome order. It also shows a one-time tip if your memory is low, and fixes the Twilight Forest startup freeze, the Create train crash, FTB Library at startup, and Infinite Railways in old worlds. The full list is on its CurseForge page.

## Servers
- Unzip the server pack, install NeoForge 21.1.265 for servers with its installer from neoforged.net, then start it with the command in `README-SERVER.txt`. CurseForge doesn't allow start scripts, so the pack doesn't come with one. The first start asks you to accept the Minecraft EULA. Memory is in `user_jvm_args.txt` (8 GB by default, more for bigger groups).
- It comes with the pack's data packs and `CREDITS.txt`, and `curseforge-sources.txt` lists where each mod comes from.
- All the Frontier rules live in `config/frontier.json`, with a short explanation next to each setting.
## Updating a world from 10.0
- Back up your world first. Seriously.
- Everyone starts at the Circle of Stone, no matter what you did in 10.0. You keep your inventory and get the Pilgrim's Compass and the Handbook. Milestones count in order, so a diamond in your inventory puts you in Embers right away, then a blaze rod gets you to Ash.
- Gear above your circle drops at your feet when you join (netherite, relics, trinkets and so on). It's never destroyed, so grab it again once you reach its circle. Creative mode isn't affected.
- If you're standing in a realm you haven't unlocked yet (the Nether, the End, the Twilight Forest, the Aether…), you get sent back to the Overworld.
- Already killed the Ender Dragon in 10.0? The Circle of the Void needs you there when it dies, so respawn it with four End Crystals on the exit portal and fight it again.
- G3 Project Doors is gone. G3 doors in your world disappear when you load it, and G3 door items vanish from inventories and chests. MalisisDoors Reborn replaces them with animated doors: hi-tech, sliding blast, garage, airlock, vault and keycard doors, among others.
- If your origin was from Origins++, you'll pick a new one when you join. Your class and background stay.
- The quest book is new, so it starts fresh. Quests you've already done the work for can complete right away and pay out.
- Cherry biomes, structure spacing, the new railways and the more common Alex's Caves biomes only show up in land that hasn't been generated yet. The fix mod keeps Infinite Railways out of land you've already explored.
Have fun, and see you at the top!
