Description

This is the modpack you will need to play on the vanilla+ factions server currently called Isleville.

Welcome to Isleville!

Long, long ago, a diverse group of settlers found themselves in a plain, with a mountain to the west, an ocean to the north, and a vast forest to the south. these settlers had different Origins and thus, different needs. They worked together for their survival, and soon enough, the Flatlander Kingdom sprawled across the open land. it was vast and prosperous, with farmers growing a variety of seasonal crops as diverse as tomatoes and rice. The economy thrived as coins changed hands at the market and carts of goods came through the streets. Cafes served a variety of foods- all manner of meat dishes, fish and even tea and strong drinks. This peace and prosperity of the natural gifts of the land was not to last.

Soon, conflict broke out between the factions and their differing views and needs. The Merlings had long before ventured north into the sea and built an isolated kingdom of their own that relied on trade. The Avians, Felines, Elytrians and some humans remained in the Flatlander Kingdom, content with what technology they had, while the Arachnids, Shulkers, Enderians and Phantoms departed toward the distant southeast snowpeaks. They forged a path through the dense forests as they traveled and scavenged and hunted for food on their pilgrimage. The carts were valuable, bringing what they needed to survive and settle such a harsh, cold climate.

They found a vast cave system, cool and dark, under the mountain, and made it a kingdom of their own. They found ores and riches that had not been seen before. They created tools and armor from far stronger materials and used them to delve ever deeper, until they created a portal to a new place. It was hellish and hot, full of strange plants and animals. There, they found the Blazeborn, a hardy people that knew how to live in the fires of the Nether, to eat the foods it offered and to use the blazing blood of their enemies to create powerful foundries and the strongest weapons. They were a warlike people and their influence spread through the Mountaineer Kingdom.

By the time the young Mountaineer prince, an Arachnid by race, was born, the Flatlander Kingdom was all but forgotten. The young prince had wanderlust in his heart and decided he would forge the new trade links himself. rather than using the ancient Waystones that stood in the middle of the square, as those were for merchants, he followed the ancient, overgrown road his ancestors had made many seasons before.

If only he'd known about the bandits in the dark forest...

News of the prince's death reached the Queen under the Mountain, and she believed it was the other kingdom which had done it. She ordered their best soldiers and engineers to take up their cobalt weapons and armor and rain destruction on their enemies. Retaliation was swift and the war was bloody. In the end, both kingdoms were left in ruins, with those who remained fleeing and creating new, small settlements.

One of these modern settlements is Isleville, which contains the remnants of those who survived the war from the Flatlander Kingdom. There are rumors that those who survived the war in the Mountaineer Kingdom descended to the Nether and remain there in a secret settlement.

mod explanations

I hope most of them are explained by the fun blurb above, but there were a few I couldn't put in effectively, so here's a quick rundown as well

  • agricraft allows for plant breeding and mutation to get you plants that aren't easy to get without a lot of travel, as well as stronger plants that give more drops, and even ore flowers.
  • astikor carts has 2 kinds of carts, one for animals and one for materials, and a plow. they can be pulled by any kind of horse, mules, donkeys and players.
  • farmer's delight and the other delight addons change food in the game, adding a lightweight few new veggies and cooking stations to make new recipes. farmer's respite adds coffee and tea, brewin and chewin adds alcoholic beverages with potion effects, and butcher's delight changes how you obtain meat. animals will drop themselves instead of a few steaks and need to be hung up on a hook and then chopped with a cleaver. it yields about ten times as much food as it would normally!
  • jade and jei are there to tell you "what am I looking at?" and "how do I make that?" respectively.
  • serene seasons adds seasons to the game, which affect which crops grow as well as how hot or cold your current biome is, which is important because
  • tough as nails affects your body temperature and adds a thirst gauge. you can die from being too hot or cold or from not drinking water.
  • if you die, the gravestone mod will make sure you don't lose your items and that someone else doesn't pick them up and steal them from you.
  • coins will be used for trading. there are five tiers, copper, iron, gold, diamond and netherite, and nine of the previous is 1 of the next.
  • origins allows you to pick one of nine different powers to live with. I used crafttweaker to add a craftable item that can change this if you're not happy with your original pick. each origin has perks and debuffs so read the selection screen carefully.
  • paraglider was mostly added because I wanted goddess statues and couldn't find any other way to add them, so have fun with it. the paragliders work as advertized and are essentially a combo feather falling/elytra that can't break.
  • tinker's construct is a big one. it completely overhauls tools and adds new tools, weapons and armor sets. these tools are indestructible, although they do need repair every so often, and can be upgraded from base to god tier as well as enchanted. it adds a completely new and more efficient system to process ores as well.
  • waystones act as one or two way teleporters and can be found around the world as well as within both npc settlements and player made ones. they are craftable and have things like teleport gems that can rescue you by teleporting you away from danger to an attuned waystone.
  • xaero's minimap and world map work together to give each player their own map of the world they've explored so far as well as what's local to them. (hopefully) never get lost again!
  • spoiled is a new addition that makes almost anything edible expire after a short period of time, so it's harder to stockpile. farmer's delight cabinets slow down decay, and minecraft barrels stop it.
  • comforts adds hammocks, which skip the day, and sleeping bags, which skip the night, both without resetting your spawn point.
  • small ships adds actually pretty large ships that are perfect seagoing vessels for trade and naval warfare!
  • as of v2.1, apple crates allow you to run a small shop automatically. you can set the item and amount sold, as well as the cost.
  • vanilla item crates allow the storage of red and brown mushrooms and eggs in 9-to-1 compressed storage
  • tinker's delight adds a few new foods, most notably slime cakes, and some new knives
  • macaw's furniture allows for tables, chairs, counters and cabinets to spruce up your buildings
  • as of v3.0, Hourglass alters the length of the Day and night, depending on the season
  • packed up gives compact storage for vanilla items and foods like eggs
  • Fruits delight adds fruit trees and bushes that give fruits that, when cooked, give potion effects!
