Into the Darkness aims to change the way you explore the world by making unlit areas truly pitch black.
During the day, the surface remains bright and familiar. As night falls, darkness spreads across the world, turning exploration to a different experience. Caves, the Nether, and the End are plunged into complete darkness, making light an essential tool for survival and discovery.
To encourage exploration, numerous structures and dungeons have been added throughout all dimensions. Many of them are close enough to each other that their light sources can often be spotted from afar, guiding adventures through the darkness.
This pack was mainly inspired by the Depth from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Features :
- The Darkness : Nothing can be seen in complete darkness without a light source.
- Glow Sticks : Throwable temporary light sources that make exploring dark areas easier.
- The Murk : Remaining in complete darkness for too long (with no visible sky and no block light) is dangerous
- Structures and Dungeons : Discover a world filled with custom structures and enhanced vanilla ones.
- Exploration Titles : The name of a dimension, biome or structure is displayed when you enter it.
- Backpacks : Carry more items during your adventures with Sophisticated Backpacks.
- Enhanced Worldgen : Experience refreshed biomes that preserve the vanilla overworld's shape while greatly expanding the Nether and the End.
- Tiredness : Sleeping through every night is no longer possible. Thanks to Sleep Rework, you must actually be tiered before you can sleep (visible through zzz icon in inventory).
- Create and Drawers : Build, automate, and expand your base using Create and Storage Drawers.
- Photography : Capture and display your adventures with Exposure.
Notes :
- Shaders are to avoid since most of them will break the complete darkness and significantly alter the intended experience.
- It's recommended to keep the brightness to default (50%), though you may adjust it if needed.
- If chunks take too long to generate, try reducing your Render Distance and/or Simulation Distance, or increase Chunk Update Threads in the Performance settings.
- Playing with friends is possible and can be even more enjoyable.
- Feel free to share, showcase, and customize the modpack however you like.
