Imitation Vanilla

A modpack that aims to have a vanilla feel, with just a hint of tech.

If you've wanted a modpack that tries to remain true to the core aesthetic of vanilla minecraft while still adding to the experience, this is the one for you.
With 30 mods (not including addons and dependencies), this should be a very light modpack as well.

So what's in the pack?

Mining and Crafting:
Exploration is the core of this modpack, and Biomes O' Plenty doesn't disappoint. At the same time, Quark diversifies dungeons, turning the small mossy rooms into crypts to explore. The underground has a new appearance as well, the details are for you to find. Waystones you find or create make traveling a breeze, and Classic Combat means you don't have to worry about timing hits against that skeleton. JourneyMap also charts your progress for you.

New ores and ways to use them:
TechReborn, Metallurgy 4, and Tinkers' Construct all add new ores for you to mine. TechReborn and Tinker's Construct also have methods to double your ores.
An important thing to note is that as part of balancing progression, stone furnaces only smelt soft metals (copper, tin, gold, silver, lead, and zinc). If you want iron or higher tier metals, you need a grinder or smeltery. In addition, gems can't be used to make tools or armor, as there are ores/alloys that cover and surpass diamonds.

Bespoke Tools and Armor:
Tinkers' Construct is a pillar of this modpack, and as such armor and tools past bronze tier require its system to make tools and armor. Enchanting (when available) also sees an upgrade thanks to Quark. Metals that are smeltable by furnace can be combined with three gravel to make dust, for alloying purposes.

Food and fish:
Growthcraft revolutionizes the crops available to cultivate; rice, grapes, and hops are among these. In addition, the mod adds honey and cheese. At the same time, Aquaculture improves on fish variety as well as adding tiered rods. All of these new foods can be used to make sandwiches, courtesy of Culinary Construct and Sauce Construct.

Acorns and lumber:
DynamicTrees completely transforms the landscape with constantly growing trees, and once you've cut them down to size, Bibliocraft has all the furniture options for your base.

Industrialization and the Hunter's Handgun:
Tech was promised, and as such TechReborn is my choice. It's IC2 with a touch of GregTech, and a fresh coat of paint. Meanwhile, Reliquary has mobs dropping new items, which can be crafted into magic artifacts.

Backpacks, digitization, and more:
With all these mods, perhaps you feel like vanilla storage options might be lacking? With Iron Backpacks, Storage Drawers, Ender Chests, and Refined Storage, you have pretty much limitless storage, should you need it.
