hourglass is a spinoff side project of Izatel. All horror elements were removed from Izatel to focus and experiment more on creating a persistent multiplayer surivial horror experience with psychological elements. This experience aims to make players feel alone and paranoid, no matter how many people are on at once.
Whats New
- Communciation is proximity based, and methods of travel have been reduced. If you do find another player online, you can work with them to build a base that can (hopefully) protect you from what lurks outside. You can still use text chat, voice chat, and even knock on doors now!
-The health system has been replaced with First aid, adding health bars to each limb. Vanilla regeneration mechanics have been disabled.
- Enemies will be more relentless, and intelligent, providing players with constant threats day and night.
- Sleeping has been reduced now, players can only sleep if phantoms spawn, and will require everyone online needing to sleep to skip a night.
- Player actions, such as sprinting, jumping, and fighting, now use a stamina system. Heavier items the player wears reduces the maximum stamina a player will have. Enchantments have been added to mitigate weights.
- More weapon types, and shield types have been added, as well as a class system for equipment types.
- Create and Occultism are the only tech/magic mods to help players defend themselves, as well as a flashlight to drastically improve light distances.
