Homestead & Horizons

Homestead & Horizons is a Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge modpack built around exploration, homesteading, farming, technology, automation, magic, and long-term progression.

Rather than throwing a collection of powerful mods together and letting players immediately rush the strongest content, H&H is designed around a connected progression system where different mods and playstyles feed into one another.

Build a thriving homestead with expanded farming, cooking, animals, and storage. Explore a dramatically expanded world filled with new biomes, structures, dungeons, dimensions, creatures, bosses, and valuable discoveries. When you're ready to industrialize, progress from the mechanical engineering of Create into the advanced machinery and power generation of Mekanism, followed by massive digital storage and automation through Applied Energistics 2.

Eventually, your journey leads into nuclear technology, antimatter production, Draconic Evolution, and finally the reality-bending power of ProjectE.

Built Around Progression

Homestead & Horizons uses a custom progression system and FTB Quests to connect many of the pack's major mods.

Expect your journey to roughly follow:

Homesteading & Exploration → Create → Mekanism → Applied Energistics 2 → Advanced/Nuclear Technology → Draconic Evolution → ProjectE

Key recipes have been reworked so that major progression systems interact with one another instead of existing as completely separate shortcuts to the endgame.

ProjectE in particular has been pushed toward the end of progression, making the Philosopher's Stone and Transmutation Table powerful rewards for mastering the pack rather than early-game tools that invalidate everything else.

Explore a Much Bigger World

The world of H&H is meant to be explored.

Discover new biomes, massive structures, revamped vanilla locations, dangerous dungeons, new creatures, bosses, and entirely new dimensions including The Aether and The Twilight Forest.

Navigation tools, Waystones, backpacks, maps, and other quality-of-life features make long expeditions practical without removing the sense of adventure.

Build Your Homestead

Exploration isn't the only focus.

Expanded crops, cooking, food production, animals, resource chickens, kitchens, and storage systems allow players to build anything from a small farmhouse to a massive agricultural settlement.

As technology progresses, those farms can evolve into automated production systems using Create, Mekanism, and AE2.

From Water Wheels to Antimatter

Start with simple mechanical power and eventually construct enormous automated factories, digital storage networks, nuclear reactors, fusion power systems, antimatter production, and Draconic technology.

Every technological era is intended to feel like an advancement over the previous one rather than simply another collection of machines that accomplish the same task.

Homestead & Horizons 2.5 Beta introduces the pack's custom quest and progression systems. This release is also being used to test progression pacing, recipe balance, quests, and the interactions between the pack's major systems ahead of the full release.
