With the magic you'll be able to defend against hordes of monsters and the Sculk hoards.
You're provided with different types of magic to defend yourself and the world-
Use Blood to develop lost technology through Evilcraft
Use mana to cast spells from Spells & Swords
Or summon minions through Occultism
The nights are more dangerous as statues follow you and strage figures observe from a distance. The nether is much less forgiving but obntaining glowstone will unlock the Aether where you can obtain far more powerful tools and armor by raiding temples. If exploring is not your fancy, you can develop your own awakened gear from farming and Mystisism.
