Nowadays "vanilla plus" modpacks get one thing wrong. They don't feel "vanilla". What makes vanilla minecraft so fun is that there is no forced play stile. There's always quests telling you what to do and where to go! So much reading, not to mention stupid recipe changes to force you to use mods that are really tough. They also have a single end goal that you have to achieve. There shouldn't be one end goal. If you don't want to do something nothing is forcing you too. Minecraft's gotten boring because it's too easy to get good. Hardcore has you on edge at every moment and if you die you loose everything.
Hardcore Reimagined on the other hand buffs, nerfs, and overall makes minecraft feel fun. There's an element of challenge and death is punishing, but nowhere near as bad as real hardcore minecraft. In Hardcore Reimagined there is no one goal. If you're tech savvy mods like integrated dynamics, mekanism, thermal series, and AE2 might be right up your ally! Not much of a tech person, but love slaying foes? You could use an explorers compass to find and raid some of yung's glorious structures and raid them to find weapons from simply swords and become the most feared warrior as you claim the lives of the great beasts that live in the twilight forest. Do you prefer a more peaceful adventure full of sight seeing? Biomes o' plenty and sophisticated backpacks will let you wander the cube globe finding and taming many of alex's mobs. Words can't begin to show all that you can do. The best way to find out is to try Hardcore Reimagined for yourself. What do you say, up for an adventure?
Things to note: For best experience create a survival world on the hard difficulty. Not hardcore. This variant of hardcore is a survival feature where death removes a heart. Also it is greatly encouraged to add and remove mods of your choice, minecraft is meant to be free reign. I'm aware that twilight forests uncrafting table is freakin' OP I'm not nerfing it idc that much tbh.
