Hacker's Exile

Cyberpunk using OpenComputers to solve puzzles

You've been exiled by your megacorp to a remote region of the unincorporated lands.  There, you must scavenge scrap metal, petrol, and computer chips to build up a way to communicate with the outside world, and hopefully, find a way back home.

=====

Ever since I saw the encryption and network security features in OpenComputers, I've wanted a way to create a competitive PVP world where combat was primarily conducted over computer networks.  This always failed because there was no incentive to build a computer, let alone give others potential network access to it.  But with recurrent complex (and a small custom mod), I could have a computer at spawn with custom software already loaded.  This computer has a creative card in it and the ability to attack your opponents or reshape the world in any number of ways.  Controlling who has access to this computer and it's capabilities would be extremely important to any game.

There's also the potential for other puzzles, such as using a computer to control redstone, navigating a robot through a maze, or others.

This is designed to be played first in single-player.  There you can learn the lay of the land, and write all your programs to solve all the puzzles.  Then after beating all the challenges in single player, invite your friends and put your code to the test against theirs.  In this world, the code you write is as much a weapon as your sword or revolver.

This is a pack for those people who laugh at depictions of hacking and network security in movies and TV.

If you're the type of person to complain whenever Direwolf20 shows coding on screen, this is not the pack for you.
