Apparently Iguana Tweaks changed their config file name, so when updating to a new version of the mod, it added an entire new config file, which meant all changes I had made weren't working.  Block hardness defaults to 4x normal, I had it set to 1.5x  (4x is slooooooow)

 

new config file is now updated appropriately.
