Dinosaurs, giant insects, and swampfolk will do their best to stop you from reaching the End, but with a variety of technology and exploratory mods you can hack your way to the top, and then maybe build a nice house out of skulls and whatnot. Railcraft to advance your transport industry? Maybe a bit of autonomous farming or fishing with Mariculture and Forestry? Maybe just go full war production with Battlegear and Balkans weapon mod. The possibilities are severely limited.
