Goober Together

A quest-guided modpack for couples and friends with different playstyles. Build factories, master magic, explore, farm, or care for animals—all in one shared world.

Goofy Goobers

Different interests. One shared world. Plenty of questionable decisions.

Goofy Goobers is a modpack for couples and groups of friends who love playing Minecraft together—even when their ideas of a perfect Minecraft session are completely different.

Maybe you want to build an automated factory while your partner wants to raise horses and decorate a farmhouse. Maybe one friend is learning magic, another is preparing for a boss fight, and somebody else has spent three hours making the kitchen look just right.

There is room for all of you here.

Goofy Goobers brings technology, magic, farming, animal care, building, exploration, and adventure into one shared experience. Follow the activities you enjoy, try something unfamiliar, and build a world where everyone has something to contribute.

Together, without doing everything together

Playing the same modpack should not mean everyone has to enjoy the same mods.

Build a cozy home beside an increasingly complicated workshop. Supply your adventuring friends with food and equipment. Turn your farm’s harvests into ingredients for someone else’s production line. Bring unusual materials home from an expedition and see what the resident engineer or spellcaster can do with them.

You can work on separate projects, team up for a big challenge, or spend an entire session improving your shared base. Your interests can be different while your progress still benefits the group.

Solo players are welcome too. If you enjoy switching between ambitious machinery, relaxed building, and the occasional deeply avoidable adventure, there is plenty to keep you busy.

A questbook that helps you learn

With over 1,400 quests, Goofy Goobers gives you direction across the pack’s major activities, from your first useful tools to advanced systems and shared projects.

The questbook is designed to help explain what items and machines do, why you might want them, and how the pieces fit together. Larger mods receive guided progression, while practical projects encourage you to put what you have learned to use.

Depending on the chapter, you might be:

  • Building your first machine and learning how to supply it.

  • Connecting storage to a growing workshop.

  • Creating spells and setting up magical production.

  • Establishing renewable supplies through crops or bees.

  • Preparing equipment for a new dimension.

  • Turning several smaller systems into a useful automatic production line.

  • Building something another player can understand and use.

Some quests track items or advancements, while practical projects use clearly explained checklists for you to complete yourself.

Descriptions aim to stay approachable, with a little humor sprinkled throughout. Learning a complicated mod is enough work without the questbook sounding like an appliance warranty.

For the engineers

Start with a small workshop and grow it into something wonderfully excessive.

Explore the moving machinery of Create, the industrial systems of Mekanism, and the storage possibilities of Applied Energistics 2 and Refined Storage. Learn to process materials, move supplies, manage power, and automate the jobs you would rather stop doing by hand.

The goal can be as modest as keeping a chest stocked with building materials or as ambitious as creating a factory that serves the entire group.

As your workshop grows, integration projects encourage you to think about the whole system: where materials come from, where products go, what happens when storage fills up, and how to make the setup useful to someone besides its creator.

Your friends may not understand the machine room. They will understand the chest that always has supplies.

For the spellcasters

If your preferred solution involves spells, magical flowers, or suspiciously powerful equipment, there is plenty to explore.

Learn spellcraft with Ars Nouveau, discover the magical engineering of Botania, and develop useful abilities and equipment as you progress.

Magic can become part of everyday life as well as adventure. Experiment with helpful spells, magical resource production, and systems that support your home and workshop.

Build a dedicated magical retreat, weave a few useful spells into your usual routine, or become the friend everyone calls when ordinary tools stop being interesting.

Please test unfamiliar spells somewhere other than the newly finished living room.

For the farmers and animal lovers

A thriving home can be a project all its own.

Grow crops, prepare food, tend animals, develop an equestrian space with SWEM, and create a countryside base that feels lived in. Whether you want a small garden beside the house or a larger farm supplying everyone, there is room to build at your own pace.

When you are ready to expand beyond ordinary farming, explore:

  • Mystical Agriculture, with a dedicated collection of 121 seed quests organized by tier.

  • Productive Bees, from establishing a colony to breeding, genetics, and automatic processing.

  • Botany Pots, for compact growing setups and convenient supplies.

Mystical Agriculture seed quests award XP and a random seed from the same tier or lower. You might discover another crop to grow, or get a spare for expanding the farm.

Eventually, “I’m working in the garden” may mean you are responsible for half the group’s material supply.

For the explorers

Pack supplies, pick a destination, and bring back a story.

Explore structures and dungeons, investigate the unusual environments of Alex’s Caves, venture into The Bumblezone, follow the progression of The Twilight Forest, and prepare for the boss encounters of L_Ender’s Cataclysm.

For those whose travel plans extend beyond the Overworld, Ad Astra offers a path from a ground-based workshop to rockets, planetary exploration, and space habitats.

Adventure chapters help you prepare for the journey, understand important progression steps, and turn discoveries into useful progress back home.

Build an expedition outpost. Keep a trophy room. Make a map wall. Leave recovery supplies somewhere sensible.

A confident departure is good. Having a way home is better.

For the builders and decorators

Not every achievement needs to produce more items per minute.

Create a farmhouse with a proper kitchen, a stable with room to grow, a village service area, a railway station, a magical garden, or a shared crafting hall. Give your group somewhere worth coming home to.

Community projects encourage builds that are useful as well as attractive: departure boards, recovery stores, public workshops, recreation rooms, and outposts that make the next adventure easier.

The base can reflect everyone who plays there. The engineer gets a workshop, the farmer gets fields, the spellcaster gets a magical corner, and the decorator gets to explain why none of those things belong directly in front of the main entrance.

Rewards that help you keep playing

Quest rewards include XP, useful supplies, selected modded items, and Goober currency.

Rewards are intended to support what you are doing and make progress feel worthwhile. Expect practical help alongside the satisfaction of checking off a milestone, with an emphasis on useful supplies rather than simply handing over the next major progression unlock.

The Goober Exchange gives your earned currency a purpose, with supply purchases and exchanges that can help keep your next project moving.

Spend it on something sensible. Or immediately decide that your next building project needs considerably more glass.

From individual hobbies to shared projects

As you learn different parts of the pack, you can bring them together in larger builds.

Turn crop essence into useful materials. Process bee products into organized storage. Build a kitchen that keeps its pantry stocked. Create a workshop that makes parts on demand. Establish a space habitat with dependable supplies.

You do not have to master every mod to contribute. A reliable farm, a well-planned storage room, a supply route, or a good expedition base can be just as valuable to your group as a complicated machine.

There is also room to slow down, organize a collection, try an arcade game, improve a public space, or help another player learn something you already enjoy.

What will your Goober build?

Goofy Goobers is about having enough variety that everyone can find a reason to log in.

Build something cozy. Automate something useful. Learn a spell. Raise a horse. Prepare for a boss. Take a trip into space. Spend an unreasonable amount of time choosing blocks for the front porch.

Bring your partner, bring your friends, and make a world that has room for all of you.
