Gears and Gales is a Create-focused tech pack for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge) that turns survival into an engineering adventure. Start with a waterwheel and a few cogs, build brass factories and steam engines, then launch working airships with Create Aeronautics and fly them over huge new landscapes. Later, you can run fusion reactors, build ME networks and launch rockets to other planets.

This is a normal survival world, not skyblock. Explore, mine, build, and fly.

📜 The Gale Guild questline

261 custom quests across 21 chapters guide you from your first cogwheel to the edge of space. Join the Gale Guild of aviators and climb the ranks, from Apprentice to Admiral, earning gear at every promotion.

• Aerial Survey: fly out and discover 24 hand-picked biomes. Find 5 to become a Surveyor, or 15 to become a Master Cartographer.
• Bounties: hunt the Wither, a Warden, an Elder Guardian and more, then face the Ender Dragon.
• Pick your path: the high ranks only need two milestones each, so focus on the tech mods you enjoy.
• Play together: FTB Teams lets your crew share quest progress.

🌅 Shaders included

Iris ships with Complementary Reimagined turned on by default, plus Complementary Unbound and BSL. Press K to toggle shaders and O to switch packs. Sodium, ModernFix, FerriteCore and Lithium keep things running smoothly.

🖥️ Requirements

• RAM: at least 8 GB allocated (6 GB minimum).
• Server: works for singleplayer or on a dedicated server. Set allow-flight=true so airship pilots don't get kicked, and use Chunky to pre-generate the world before your friends join.

Shaders and airships: Aeronautics has some known visual issues with shaders. If your ship looks odd, press K while flying.
