This modpack was originally aggregated for a group of friends who had beaten the vanilla experience to death and had not yet touched modding. The main drive was to put together mods that try not to absolutely drown someone unfamiliar to modding, while offering many new paths to take and experiences to have should one choose.

The core mods included seek to greatly increase the variation of items, building materials, mobs encountered, and locations to visit over vanilla. You will also find a number of mods meant to decrease the repetition or frustration many of us felt having played so much vanilla. You'll find mods like Prefab to skirt the early game and get an easier start if you want (or just chuck the blueprint and move on with your life).

Below this line we'll try to keep a running mod list and list of high-level changes. The list is intentionally vague to give hints about what there is to discover, but leave it up to the player to make the discoveries themselves. Enjoy!

The Friends Galaxy Modpack - 4.13

WORLD:

There are seasons for most biomes - certain crops can only be grown during particular seasons. Hover over a farmable to see its fertile seasons. Craft a calendar (full grid of paper) to see what season it is. Seasons do not progress when the server is empty. Diversify your farm! [Serene Seasons]

COMBAT & DEATH:

When you die, you drop a gravestone that contains all of your items (they are safe from lava!). A key you respawn with will let you open your grave and retrieve your items/equipment - You are a ghost and immune to damage for 180s after respawn. (note - grave can be opened by anyone after 180s) includes optional progression system based on dying and souls. See “Knowledge of Death” keybind. [Corail Tombstone]
You can be revived by another player within 180s of your death. [Hardcore Revival]
Sleeping provides some healing, but healing regen is slightly decreased. [Harder Natural Healing*]

Your wolves, cats, etc will not die! They will become wounded for ~ 1/4 Minecraft day and revive with 1 HP OR you can heal them with a crafted bandage [Save Your Pets]. You can't damage your own pets [Vtweaks].

MONSTERS:

MISC GAME MECHANICS:

Instanced loot. Every player can benefit from a chest and loot is randomized per player. Don't break chests so others can loot them! [Lootr]

Sapience

A few important notes from the Sapience mod description, see the link for all changes.

- Piglins now have a reputation system that works similarly to Villagers. Doing things like fighting alongside them against Wither mobs, giving them gifts and bartering with them increases your reputation. Doing things like hurting or killing Piglin mobs and engaging in unauthorized mining/chest opening around them decreases your reputation.
- At +50 reputation with a Piglin, you will no longer be required to wear gold armor around them. At +100 reputation, you will be authorized to open chests and mine gold around them.
- At -50 reputation with a Piglin, you will no longer receive items from bartering. At -100 reputation, you will be attacked on sight regardless of whether or not you are wearing gold armor.

- Piglins store gold ingots and gold nuggets in a separate inventory, including gold ingots they received from bartering. Any non-bartered gold ingots and gold nuggets will drop when they die or are zombified.

- Piglins can craft gold armor and weapons and equip themselves with them if they have enough gold in their inventory. If they are fully equipped, they will attempt to craft equipment for a nearby Piglin and give it to them. A Piglin who has either crafted equipment or has received it as a gift from another Piglin will admire it before equipping it.

- Piglins can now barter with gold nuggets and gold blocks. Gold nuggets make you far more likely to receive common barter items, with all item stack sizes halved. Gold blocks make you far more likely to receive rare barter items, with all item stack sizes doubled.

- Piglins will now accept gold non-bartering items directly from you, like gold equipment and stuff like gold horse armor, and anything else tagged under the vanilla tag "piglin_loved".
- Piglins will no longer drop bartering loot if the bartering item they received did not come from a living being. This change can be disabled in the config.

This is the server modpack used on the Friends Galaxy server. THIS IS NOT THE SERVER PACK. You must import this into CurseForge, install the mods, and install the 35.1.37 Forge installer for 1.16.4 in order to create the server pack. This is only the importable file to create the CurseForge profile.

This adds many mods, as well as config files changes, not needed by the client from authors like MacTso, Serilum, DarkhaxDev and others for mob behavior/spawning changes, item/block behavior, worldgen, and server performance.
