Due to a backend system issue You have to manually grab and download the version from dropbox backup then you need to manually import if you choose not to I don't care because I am waiting for Curseforge to fix there export function. • some users are suffering flickering on Nvidia Cards … on Windows 11 seems the fix is disable adaptive sync. I will be removing that as default in future patches.
• When setting shader packs do not do so on server or you will be disconnected; I am looking into it.

Introduction

Welcome one and all to Fiction Friction a Minecraft server that is sure to have a bit of everything for everyone.

What is Fiction Friction

'Fiction Friction' was and is always intended to be about balance fun and freedom of choice. Minecraft for me on a personal level is about expression which is how 'Fiction Friction' is presented. As a player I like building exploring and just generally relaxing. While all that is in other packs mine also has another function; very high performance. I have seen so many wonderful projects over the last 13 years all be bogged down by feature over performance. I am actively against more is better. I geared this pack in a way that promotes this mindset spending hours of testing and effort to make something worth playing. The other thing 'Fiction Friction' is unique. I am adding great mods that may be lesser known or have niche communities. I have more plans but at least now its in a release state so here I present to you - my modpack.

The Main Features

--1.21.1 Pack--

24/7 Dedicated Server "I have a dedicated server tower that is up as much as possible. I have the info built into the pack. Unless I am working on it or something breaks its just a matter of joining."

Automation and resource manipulation "I have added many ways for a user to manipulate or farm materials and resources that is sure to delight all kinds of users. You can grow resource crops directly or break down matter and gather materials that way as well."

Blueprint and global structure saving "Thanks to 'Little Tiles' and 'Portable Blueprint' you can basically create whatever you want save it and share it. I am curious what you will make.

Building and Comforts "There are over 200+ furniture sets ... this is thanks to Everycompat Series and Paladins funiture as well as little tiles and Macaws!"

Farming and Food Function "I always felt like farming and food only play minor roles in Minecraft and well for younger players this is fine it lacks function for veteran players. I have added perks to eating anything and everything at least once. To prevent becoming basically invincible however if you perish so does your bonuses and you will have to eat all over again."

Magic and Spellcrafting "Become something magical with Ars Nouveau-Ars Elemental-Ars Elemency and Occultism."

Minecolonies and Additions "Minecolonies is a one of a kind mod and while some hate it others love it I just find it nice to experience something unique when things get stale."

No Pay to Win mechanics "Everything is in game with no way to premium cheapen your experience."

Pokemon and Fakemon "Pokemon has been apart of my life from the time I was younger. I really enjoy creature capture mechanics and because of this I have worked to have pokemon present in my pack!"

Origins mod "Thanks to Neoorigins we have origins in our pack!"

QoL "Many ways that improve on Vanilla gameplay. This ranges from teleportation construction and just general feel. Inventory management and even stack size are made with comfort and ease in mind."

Tech Mods "Project E - Collasal Reactors - Mekanism - Refined Storage and more!"

World Generation "We have many world gen and structure mods that have been curated with performance and engagement in mind. With many kinds of flora and fauna there are all kinds of things you can see."

Final Notes

When I first started this project I was genuinely concerned I could never make it happen. I have more ideas for the future but at least I can say this pack is good enough to have some public testing. Note I am not a coder and it wouldn't be possible to even make this project without the talent of others so thank you to all the devs who made it possible for me to share my unique take on the Minecraft Universe.
