Simple Voicechat not working? The host of your game needs to do port forwarding to make it work. Below is a step-by-step tutorial about how to do it, pictures included.

Step 1. Open command prompt in administrator mode.

Do this by searching for it in the start menu on the bottom left of your computer. Either search for "cmd" or "command prompt" and right click on it and then click on "run as administrator"

Step 2. Type "ipconfig/all" and press enter

Step 3. Find your default gateway and enter it into your web browser.

Step 4. login to your router. If you cannot login, you can reset your router to default settings, if it is your router. If it isn't your router, I would recommend not doing that, and instead ask the router owner if you can have access to the router settings to port forward. If you had to reset your router, the default username should be "admin", and the password should be "admin" or "password". Some routers may require you to use an app to login and/or create accounts to login to the router. If none of that works, you can check for the default passwords for your router brand here: https://portforward.com/router-password/

Step 5. Once logged in, look for "port forwarding" or "port triggering" and go into that section.

Step 6. Add a port to forward. You can name it anything you want, but it is recommended to name it as something that is related to what you're doing, so if you ever look at your ports again, you know what the port is associated with. The tirggering and external port is 24454 by default for Simple Voice Chat. The protocol is UDP by default for it as well. But using both/all/UDP and TCP at the same time should work too, if not, just set it to UDP.

Step 7. Make sure it is enabled and save it. Only the host will have to do this. And if you wanted to host without using a multiplayer mod, you can also use the port 25565 for TCP protocol for Minecraft itself. Though I would advise you only do this if you plan to only play with your friends, as you would be using your public IP for your friends to connect to you, meaning anyone that you give your IP address to would be able to commit cyber attacks on you. So it'd be best to only share it with your friends and explain that they cannot give that IP to anyone else. Otherwise just continue using the multiplayer mod(s) you enjoy using.

And you're done!
