Start from a quiet farmhouse, then journey into a wider, livelier, and more dangerous world.

Farm and Far is a Minecraft modpack built around countryside life, immersive exploration, living nature, food-based progression, dungeon crawling, and boss challenges. Its goal is not to simply pile mods together, but to connect these systems into a natural adventure path that helps bring back the feeling of wanting to see what lies beyond the next hill.

Main Features

• Farming, Cooking, and Countryside Life

Grow crops, cook meals, place food, and build your own home. Food is no longer just a way to refill hunger. It becomes an important part of character growth and preparation for exploration.

• Seasons and Immersive Survival

Seasons affect the weather, crops, and atmosphere of the world. Planting and harvesting change with the time of year, giving survival a more natural rhythm and a stronger sense of immersion.

• A More Living Natural World

The land and oceans are filled with more animals, fish, and natural details. Different creatures have their own behaviors, and you can even use a spyglass to record newly discovered species.

• Better Terrain, Structures, and Exploration

New terrain generation creates grander mountains, valleys, coastlines, and distant views. The world is also filled with more structures, ruins, dungeons, and archaeology sites to discover.

• Expanded Fishing and Underwater Adventure

Fishing offers more kinds of fish and the chance to find rare treasures. When facing underwater enemies, some of these treasures can become extremely valuable pieces of equipment.

• Combat and Boss Fights

Improved combat, more dangerous dungeons, stronger enemies, and boss fights make adventure feel less like simple stat-checking and more about skill and preparation. Boss drops each have their own identity and can affect how you explore, survive, and fight later on.

• In-Game Soft Guidance

The modpack includes in-game notes and hints to guide you without forcing you down a fixed questline. You do not need to constantly leave the game to check a wiki. The game gives you direction while still leaving room for free exploration.

• Optimization

The modpack has been optimized across multiple areas, including particle effects, entity rendering, and terrain loading, to help mid-range computers run the game smoothly.

If your FPS is low, try lowering the Distant Horizons distant terrain quality or disabling shaders.

Recommended RAM: 6–8 GB
For 16 GB system RAM: allocate 6 GB / 6144 MB
For 24–32 GB system RAM: allocate 8 GB / 8192 MB

Use ZGC Garbage Collection
Do not allocate more than 10–12 GB unless necessary.

A Note from the Creator

This modpack was originally made for private play.

After playing Minecraft for twelve years, Farm and Far helped me rediscover the excitement I felt when I first entered this game: the urge to plant the first field, climb the next mountain, and see what might be waiting in the distance.

I have completed the main progression myself, fixing and adjusting many issues along the way. This is not just a random collection of mods. It is a version shaped by actual playthrough, testing, and repeated refinement.

I hope it can help you rediscover that same sense of Minecraft exploration.
