This is a modpack for playing with the Play with Me! Mod. It is centered around roleplaying in a fantasy medieval world with vampires, dragons, and more! While also involving the roleplay characters and transforming into them, making it like the roleplay. Here is some info from the Play with me! mod (which is also my mod).

I would like to create a mod designed for roleplay, specifically for encouraging text based roleplay on another app with my friend. The main thing this mod will do is lock the other player temporarily out of minecraft so they can answer the roleplay. Other features will include: a wheel for choosing the roleplay to answer in, a wheel to choose the character, and things to combine minecraft and roleplay (like turning you into the character!)

For character/group data, mostly:

stored as editable data/config so you can keep adding characters without code changes

Configuration Options:

Play With ME! Token Config

The main loop of this is going between players pausing them back and forth using the Play With ME! Token item. You can choose who is paired in the game (people can be in multiple pairings/groups). When two people are paired, the item just goes back and forth between them. When more than two players are grouped, an extra wheel spins, choosing between the people who weren’t chosen last. Then the person who was chosen last is the next one to find the item.

When choosing pairings/groups you get to select a group color and that enchants their specific Play With ME! Token with that color shimmer.

World Token Config

The World Tokens will be specific to their group. You can choose what roleplays to list on the wheel for each group, or disable the wheel for a group. You will type in the roleplay names.

Choose Character Token Config

The Choose Character Token can be configured per group. There will be a set list of characters that can be toggled per group. You can also type in characters but they will have less options that will be discussed later. You will also have to set which character is played by which player. You can only spin your own characters.

Items:

Play With ME! Token

The first item is the Play With ME! Token.

This causes the main game loop. This item randomly spawns near players in a pairing/group that’s been configured. Their Token is colored with an enchantment of the color chosen in configuration.

When it is discovered in a pairing config, the other person gets a wheel that spins on screen. The wheel has different times on it, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes, 5 minutes, up to 10 minutes. The wheel spins and randomly chooses one. You then have your game paused for that amount of time, becoming invincible. You do have the option to skip the timer. After the first person finds the item, they cannot find another until another player finds it. The item can be found, back and forth between players but a player cannot find the item twice in a row.

The main difference for when it is between a group, is that they add a spinner that chooses which player is paused to answer. The last player to be chosen and frozen is the one who must find it next.

You can randomly find this item in chests, as a mob drop, fishing, or an extra drop from ores. Also, every 3-5 minutes one spawns near the last person in each group to be frozen. Spawned tokens search a random ring roughly 40 to 96 blocks away from the eligible player instead of a tiny nearby area. For the random spawning ones that happen every 3-5 minutes, they get closer the longer you can't find them. Like if the first spawned 96 blocks away, the next will be 96 or less blocks away. You activate it by right clicking with it.

When you leave the server, the timer should end automatically. Also instead of not letting someone use it twice in a row, don't even let them see it. Also when someone skips the timer, a new token should appear automatically.

On the fullscreen “pause” UI, the player should be unable to:

move
look around
open inventory
break/place blocks
attack/use items

Anything besides opening chat.

Since multiplayer cannot be truly paused, we simulate it with invulnerability + immobilization + fullscreen overlay.

If the same player gets overlapping group events:

separate active timers tracked in parallel, with the next UI appearing as soon as the current one ends/skips

Each group can have multiple active Play With ME! Token in the world at a time/can have multiple unfound tokens stack up for that same group. When one is found it gets rid of the others currently present but new ones will appear.

This is a token that someone can choose to create and use to spin a wheel that chooses what roleplay to roleplay in. The crafting recipe to make the base world token is a stick in the top middle, a stick in the bottom middle, a stick in the left column middle, a stick in the right column middle, and a dirt block in the very center. To make the world token you can use, you use an anvil to combine it with a dye that matches your group’s color. The new group specific token will have the enchantment color of the group and can be used by right clicking it. This will spin the wheel and choose a roleplay out of the options that were configured. This one, unlike the Play With ME! Token can be reused indefinitely instead of just once.

This is a token that someone can choose to create and use to spin a wheel that chooses what character to roleplay as. This will spin the wheel and choose a character out of the options that were configured.

When the character is chosen, if it’s one of the preset options that was toggled and not an added typed in addition, you will become that character. More information about this will be in the character section.

You right click to activate it and it can only be used once, along with the rest of the character tokens.

Using a blank character token you can anvil it with a bucket of water that creates a Clear Character Token that resets you back to your default. One time use.

You can also make character specific tokens using the Blank Character Token. You can use this with an anvil to combine it with an item that correlates to each preset character group, then a dye that corresponds with the specific character. You can use this token to force your character to transform into a specific character.
