Hello adventurers!
Expanded & Enhanced is a way to enjoy regular plain minecraft with a handful of quality-of-life improvements as well as useful additions that fit into the minecraft theme. Nothing too overpowered and nothing too useless.
The main available features are:
New places to explore!
Discover minecraft worlds you know and love with a little twist - many different kinds of new buildings scattered across the land, which is now divided into huge continents, surrounded by oceans full of smaller islands. Using the ''small ships'' mod, you can now build bigger vessels to comfortably travel between them.
Improved adventuring!
Discover new structures both above and under the ground, in overworld, nether and the end dimension. Make track of them in xaero's minimap and world map. Plus, now you can fit all of your loot into a nice backpack.
Better ways to fight!
You don't need to always get into the heat up close - you can choose new enchantments for bows and crossbows, or, well... old school musket will do the job for you. It is supposed to be a little difficult getting a musket, but in the right hands it can be stronger than bows and crossbows alike. Plus, gunpowder is now a craftable ingredient. Become a musketeer!
Better inventory!
Ever forgot that one important recipe and now you have to search the internet for it? Don't worry, the whole crafting book is available right behind the inventory button! To the right of your inventory, there is a JEI recipe library, in which you can look up both crafting recipe (left click by default) and usage (right click by default) of an item. Search bar is also included for extra convenience.
Magical artifacts!
you might (or might not) stumble upon artifacts which you can use to make your gameplay more interesting. These lootable, non-craftable items from the "artifacts" mod can be equipped in the inventory menu, just place your cursor onto the regular armor slots and new artifact slots should appear to the sides. Maybe combine your artifacts for stronger combinations...
Hammer time!
Ever thought about how long it takes to mine large chunks of rock even with a good pickaxe? No need to worry! You can now craft, albeit at a considerable cost, a hammer, which can mine in an 3x3 area. Go make tunnels!
Copper tools!
Copper is now a little bit more useful especially in early game, because you can now craft tools and armor from it.
Reset vaults!
Using the "Forget me wand" mod you can now reset vaults in trial chambers, to make these parts of the game properly replayable like in RPG games. Good luck while obtaining it!
Quality-of-life improvements!
This modpack also contains:
enchant book descriptions (see what the book does in the inventory)
enchatnment grind (take enchantments off of tools using grindstone and book, this costs some xp)
crawling (crawl into 1x1 spaces, works similar to flat swimming but it is toggleable now)
visible saturation bar (I dunno how to explain this, you'll see a yellow overlay on hungry bar telling you how much saturation you have)
improvements to axes (now axes can be used fully as weapons, when hitting they don't break as fast and some sword enchantments are applicable to them)
bottling your xp (use glass bottles to take store some of your xp from your xp bar, warning - there IS purposely some loss of xp while doing this)
xp clumps (when a lot of xp orbs drop on one place, they now connect into bigger clumps to reduce lag)
bow infinity fix (you don't need to have an arrow in inventory for bows with infinity enchantment to work)
better block placement (basically you can now place blocks under other blocks etc. , check out "Bridging mod")
new crafting recipes (craft chainmail armor, tridents, gunpowder, saddles etc.)
cycle paintings (right click a painting with another one in your hand to cycle through all the variants)
double doors (double doors now open with just one click, same applies for trapdoors)
high speed rails (place rails on gravel to achieve higher speeds)
inventory totem (totem of undying activates even while it is just in your inventory)
never too expensive anvils (the "Too expensive!" moment we all hate is removed, so yes, go on and use those 150 levels to forge a tool)
mouse tweaks (open up inventory and try it yourself)
potion cauldron (put potions in cauldrons and tip arrows in them, just like in bedrock edition)
starter kit (when you load into a new save, there are some items to help you out)
mineable spawners (you can mine a spawner with a silk touch enchanted pickaxe, this might change in the future)
zombie proof doors (when playing on hard or hardcore difficulty, zombies used to break down doors and because of that whole villages could be wiped out, which was really annoying, so now no more!)
I tried to balance the selection of these mods to fit the basic vanilla feel while changing a few annoying base game features.
After all, this modpack should be as vanilla based as possible, so if you feel that something is just too much, be sure to comment them on the curseforge page and I will consider your opinions in the next updates :D
I hope you have good times alone or with friends in this light modpack, Godspeed!

By the way, this is an experimental modpack and its author is not very skilled in the terms of modding, so expect performance/balance mistakes and be sure to write them to me :)
A little note: seed map available on map.jacobsjo.eu website should work properly with seeds from this modpack, however you need to select the ''Continents'' datapack for it to properly work. The ingame mod should work the same as the datapack shown on this website. Kudos to jacobsjo!
If this mod takes off, I might be considering making a bigger version with more additions or maybe even a let's play series on youtube. I'll try to update this modpack always as soon as possible, but I'm a little overworked now so it might take some time to process your possible requests.
