Description

Extends the early and mid game to bring a slower paced and rewarding journey. This modpack introduces a lot of extra friction to the earlier parts of the game to ensure you can't blitz your way to the end within mere minutes or low hours. This is intended to be a long form experience played at your own pace over a long period of time.  Eternal Solstice introduces new rpg styled progression via new items, enemies, structures, and systems. With the addition of more indepth systems, I tried to retain a relatively simple progression system that stays somewhat intuitive, so most progression and specializtion is through simple armor and weapon crafting.

Survival is always relevant. The idea here is to keep the survival mechanics relevant no matter what part of the game you've progressed to. Food is always temporary, crops and animals require more care and there are few shortcuts. You'll no longer have solved the hunger problem the moment you plant one wheat seed. Food will spoil and crops cannot grow during the winter season. You can still make mega farms and alleviate a lot of the hardship, but hunger is never outright "solved".  Crops don't grow during the winter season, so stock up, prep, and get ready for the long haul.

More fleshed out systems besides combat. Though combat is a big factor here, I want to ensure that the rest of the game is given a lot more to do (I personally tend to play the game pretty much like a pacifist). Farming and animals require more care and management, villagers are deeper, there is much more reason to build in order to run your own village, and fishing has more mechanics too.

The game's difficulty "infinitely" scales. Thanks to the systems of L2Hostility, the mobs and difficulty of the game will always try to keep in line with where your progression is. The game is no longer completely trivialized the moment you get an enchanted bow.

Remains grounded even with power. This modpack's player progression can go long and far, however even when equipped with great power, I want the game to still feel somewhat grounded. This means avoiding hyper mobility, triple backflipping, 9999 damage dealing ninja builds. The main armor and equipment in the modpack fall into 3 archetypes that come with both power and limitation.

I made this modpack primarily for myself during spare time so no promise on updates. The late game is likely pretty unbalanced and has been tested far less than the rest of the game, but I wanted to get this out regardless.

Also note; you can freely disable Create mode if you don't wish to include it in your playthrough. It has no inherent integration with the other mods present, I just included it because I enjoy playing with it on.

All credit obviously goes to the original mod creators that are included in this pack.

*Currently structures will likely spawn in a way where they are too spread out. I'll fix that eventually, but in the meantime you can manually change the spread factor in the modlist options ingame by searching for "Structify".
