CASUAL MODE
DEPRECATED
Casual Mode was created for an easier experience that can be enjoyed by more people.
Changes made in casual mode:
- No Mob Farms has been removed to allow larger scale resource production.
- Critical health effects from Crafting Dead have been disabled to allow for a more casual playstyle.
- Improved Mobs has been removed because everything was already difficult enough without it.
- Sleeping has been reenabled.
- A few other small changes.

Eternal Decay is a zombie apocalypse survival modpack centered in realism and immersion with inspiration from popular apocalypse titles such as 7 Days to Die and The Last of US, and classic Modpacks such as Decimation and The Crafting Dead. A wide variety of specialized zombies, true darkness, and brutally enhanced AI changes have made this modpack into a hardcore realist's dream.
Note: Lots of custom config changes have been made to improve the experience.

The goal is to make the player as immersed as possible by focusing on the little details around survival and disabling forms of automation such that the players must venture out into the dangerous and desolate world full of hordes of zombies. This is accomplished by adding features that push the post-apocalyptic world into overdrive through improving the senses of both player and zombie.

Massively improved zombie AI that includes new pathing, sight, sound, and smell, paired with a plethora of new animations means true stealth will be required. This is also applied to a variety of new modded zombies.
-
A huge arsenal of hundreds of apocalyptic weapons from your standard fire axe all the way to rocket launchers. (Most will work with Epic Fight)
- A detailed leveling system provides a sense of progression allowing the player to specialize in certain skills. This also restricts the player to basic gear early on, but allows for significant scaling.
-
Large scale cities to explore and loot. Be careful, cities are full of spawners and dark corners that make them much more dangerous.
-
Enhanced realistic movement from ParCool allows for improved traversal and navigation of the endless cities.
-
(DISABLED IN CASUAL MODE) A complex visual realism system paired with the new health effects from Crafting Dead immerses the player by making them feel the effects of damage besides simply losing hearts. Wounds, broken legs, and infection will all be a challenge to handle. Oh, you can also revive downed teammates, so that's cool.
-
Complete revision of the village system. Some villages will be totally infected and overgrown, but reward the player with upgraded loot.
-
A wide variety of base defense mechanisms have been added including landmines, traps, pitfalls, turrets, and manned artillery to help fend off hordes on bloodmoons and zombie raid events.
-
Vehicles from Ultimate Car Mod and Simple Planes allow for long distance travel to loot unexplored structures, but be careful. The noise they make will attract zombies from afar.

A sandbox style quest system will most likely be added in the future. For now, suggesting content additions or changes in the comments on the Curseforge page will help me to improve the pack.
Notes:

- Lots of keybinds have been changed in order to make a smoother experience (never press "Insert").
- Known Bugs: Bunkers spawning a few layers too low/in the ocean | ParCool may need to be disabled/reenabled for use | Structures Floating
