A power suit that makes survival far easier has been added. With refined storage and the suit  the later parts of minecraft will become easier.

 Alex mobs adds in  several new mobs so that there is a change of pace with mobs instead of the same mobs always in minecraft

Mine colonies adds in a faster way to build towns instead of by hand
