Description -

ErfWerm-Z Zombie Survival is all about 2 things. Zombies and... BUILDING!

One of the things I always loved about minecraft was the zombies. To me, they added a flair to the game that I enjoyed. What I didn't like, was the quake pro skeleton snipers tagging me every time I fell in some water. I also didn't enjoy the spiders jumping down at me from above (WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SPIDERS?!?!) or creepers blowing me up from below. Don't get me wrong.. I know these mobs have their place in other packs and I love them for that, but not in my house!

Welcome to ErfWerm-Z, a pack about zombies and decorating. Using the "Bad Mobs (by DarkhaxDev)" mod, I turned off all other vanilla style hostile mobs. The only vanilla hostile mob that should spawn are Zombies and technically, endermen. Why did i leave the slender man? Ender pearls. Gotta get em. If for some reason your getting creeper spawns, skeles, or whatever... be sure to check the cfg file for the badmobs. I have had some problems uploading files to twitch in the past. The config should look like this :

In addition to increased zombie spawns due to the lack of other mobs, I am also using a mod called "Hardcore Darkness (by lumien231)" which completely removes the light level of the map when it is dark outside. Get caught in the dark without a torch, and you're chances of survival are slim to none (really its none, im just being nice). You could always build yourself a small shelter, but then again, zombies wont burn in the sun. Why? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T VAMPIRES, THEY ARE ZOMBIES! Thanks to "Mob Sunscreen (by Kreezxil)", you can sunbathe with your favorite dead body man! But don't worry, if you do get stuck out in the crisp night air,with "Dynamic Lights (by AtomicStryker)", you can carry a torch with you and light up the area as you go. Critical in a pack like this. OR, just light up the entire area using fancy new glowstone thanks to ""Mo' Glowstone (by TheMasterGeneral)"! Don't forget to bring a jar, so you can catch some fireflys with "Illuminations | Fireflies and fairies (by doctor4t)" mod.

However, Zombies like light. They also like sound, the smell of blood, and might be able to work together (grouping with other zombies). Welcome to "Zombie Awareness (by Corosus)". This mod makes zombies track you better with a number of better triggers. Lights for example, are a big one. In a world of complete darkness at night, a light from a torch can be seen a mile away, and zombies be peekin. Are you injured? Cause your bleeding! Making noise with mining? Zombies want to help and they are on the way! Zombies loooooove to party, so if a zombie horde passes zombies on the way to come eat you, they will join in on the fun! WHAT FUN! ZOMBIE HORDES! WOOOOO!

But its not all bad! ErfWermZ will bring out the creative side of you with the help of "ArchitectureCraft - TridentMC Version (by darkevilmac)", "Storage Drawers (by jaquadro)", "Iron Chests (by progwml6)", "BiblioCraft (by JDSinclair)", "Decocraft (by RazzleberryFox)", and MORE! If you outgrow your storage chests, you can always turn it into a storage computer using "Refined Storage (by raoulvdberge)" and "Reborn Storage (by modmuss50)".

So, in addition to zombies, and building, we sprinkle some awesome quality of life mods to the pack that just make it that much more fresh. We have all the standard mods such as "Just Enough Items (JEI) (by mezz)", "AppleSkin (by squeek502)", "Gotta Go Fast (by Thiakil)", "JourneyMap (by techbrew)", "Morpheus (by Quetzi)", "Ore Excavation (by Funwayguy)", "Faster Ladder Climbing (by MadDachshund)", and "Hwyla (by TehNut)". And as of writing this, we also have a FREE SERVER! My only requirement, is you have to be a member of my discord. Thats it. Just join, say hello from time to time, and hit me up in a PM with your game name and i'll add you to the whitelist. Its that easy. On the server, we use a few more mods that we have included in the pack, such as Custom NPCs (by Noppes_) and Good Ol' Currency (by BeardlessBrady). With these 2 mods, ive created cities and stores where you can sell zombie flesh for money, and then use that money to buy items! Commerce! Woo!!

UPDATE : 9.24.2019 - I found an issue with vending machines not working in claimed player areas. They are obviously protected by the claim of the user. However, I joined the discord and an awesome user posted a fix that im going to post here. Again, this is only if you need to use the vending machines in a claimed area (which you probably do, cause people would just break your machine). For future updates, i'll try to remember to add this in :

Hey, a while back someone mentioned having issues with interacting with vending machines in claimed chunks. Well, on my server we use FTB Utilities and I figured out how to permit that. You just need to add these two lines to the ranks that you want to have those permissions:

ftbutilities.claims.block.interact.modcurrency.blockexchanger: true
ftbutilities.claims.block.interact.modcurrency.blockvending: true

So if you use FTB Utilities to claim chunks, people can still buy and sell in chunks that aren't theirs!

The new revised MOD PACK called ERFWERM-Z is now officially released! To avoid confusion, the newest and most current modpack is going to be (1.x) labeled. For example, this first release is (1.0), which moves us out of the alpha/beta builds and puts us on a full release!

Same awesome mod author. I know I just did an update a few days ago, but during a playthrough of my pack in single player, I saw some settings I wanted to change and one of them was giving the skeletons some swords. Good luck, they can get tough with the scaling health mod!

Cams Currency is brought in to give us a currency for the towns. The mod adds 3 non-craftable coins. Should be a lot of fun to use with the npcs. Also, i included a servers.dat file that includes a server i have set up for this pack. It is a "Twitch Tier 1" sub required server.

The chunk pre-gen mod was in place to generate a test world before we went live. Tinkers and construct armory will add to the tool/combat/design focus of the game. Hits all three. Also, version 1.1 was released earlier today, but there was an issue with one of the mod libraries. I have fixed this issue, removed version 1.1, and reuploaded todays update as 1.1b. If you downloaded the older version today (1.1) without the "b", either download PTRLIB to your modpack or download the new version to address this issue. Thank you.

1.0 :: MARCH 11, 2019 -

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone thats been on my staff or has helped out in any way with the building / support of the pack. I couldn't of done it without you, and you guys know who you are.

When i released this pack, I had 2 things in mind. Lots of Zombies, and lots of ways to decorate / build. I wanted to make the park hard. You are supposed to die a lot. Somewhere along the creation of the pack, the pack became bloated. Mods that i wanted to try were added, and mods that ended up not being used still stuck around or had issues with other mods. I ended up re-building the pack and the vision from the ground up. Any version of ERFWERMZ thats lower than version 1.0 is going to be VERY DIFFERENT than the official release. The early alpha/beta versions of this pack, which i will leave up on this site to download if you want to, are currently unsupported, and Ive removed all documentation about the pack. From this point on, everything here will be about version 1.0 and higher which are the only versions / releases that are stable and supported.

With that all said, lets talk a bit about the pack. As i stated earlier, the pack is designed to be hard. There are A LOT more zombies than vanilla , and they have special traits that help them find you better. They can hear, smell, and see you from a much greater distance. Light sources, walking, building, these are all actions that will attract a zombie horde.. and yes.. we have actual hordes now.

To add to the increased danger of zombie hordes, we have a mod that changes the darkness around in the night a bit. In this mod pack, nighttime is nighttime, and we have removed ALL natural light sources from the world when the sun goes down. This means your gonna need a torch, or a few torches, to get around at night. Get caught outside without a torch, and you can kiss your butt good bye. Thankfully, we have some additional lighting mods installed to help you find your way, as well as a combat mod to give you some additional fighting abilities.

If you do manage to stay alive long enough to build something better than a dirt house, we have multiple building mods that should bring some charm to your builds. Decocraft and Architecture craft are a few mods that will allow you to add some new designs or personal flair. Pams Harvestcraft will bring farming to a whole new level.

I had a mod list for the old versions, and I will be including a new mod list for this version. This is a rough type-out for the new modpack, as I wanted to get something up. I will be working on this section, and uploading a mod list, very soon. Keep this page bookmarked, and come join us in the discord below!
