TIPS

Instead of getting wood right away, you have to get flint and craft flint items
Right click flint on a hard surface (stone) to get flint shards to craft a flint knife and other tools
Use your flint knife to break grass to get plant fiber that you can use to craft plant string
From there craft an axe and pickaxe and your good from there
