If there aren't the tech mods you want on your new versions, why not play without them? Summoning demons to move your items for you instead of making pipes has always been server-friendly and never caused any problems! I am not in denial :)

Although you can set up quests yourself via running /ftbquests editing_mode and open up the quest book, I may be adding quests in the future.
