Quick disclaimer: this is mostly just an uploaded version of a huge project I've been working on. After a while, I just figured that I made it so big and intricate that it'd be a shame not to share
Also: If you are a mod developer, and your mod is in my modpack, and you don't want me distributing it, please just message me or leave a comment. I'll remove it and run through the pack to ensure it doesn't break any dependencies.
The best way to cover all of the details about this mod would be to run through the FTB quests, so, without further ado:
Base Game Progress:
Base game progress is rewarded, but not expected beyond certain goals. This mod focuses more on adventuring than mining and crafting. On that note, encountering certain mobs and metals are rewarded whether they're from dungeons or caves, and defeating certain bosses and moving to different dimensions is greatly rewarded. When travelling to (or making progress towards) other dimensions also allows you to buy prefab buildings, so you save time from collecting resources and can spend more time finding new dungeons!
Dungeons!:
Dungeons can be found on the surface, in the caves, and in the oceans of the overworld, as well as in the Nether, Aether, and End. Each new dungeon discovery is rewarded with a waystone, so that if you die, or get stuck, you can always come back to previously-discovered dungeons! Different dimensions have their own sharestones, so your waystone destinations get less cluttered
Levelling:
Experience levels can be traded for spells and certain rewards towards your class. When you first spawn in, you can choose a class, which has its own armor (with a trim!), food type, artifact, weapon, skill, minecraft dungeons item, and spell focus. There's a lot involved, so I'll detail each one:
- Armor (and trims) are a bit obvious to detail. They will always be dyed leather, and are often more cosmetic than defensive
- Each class has a food type that amplifies their purpose (or aesthetic). For instance, Paladins get golden apples, trading their need to eat for defensive bonuses
- Artifacts go into separate equipment slots, and get you certain bonuses, like the Ranger's Cloud in a Bottle, which gives you mid-air jumps
- Each class gets a weapon with a bonus enchantment! For example, Druids get Bane of Arthropods I
- Skills are new, extra actions you can take, that have long cooldowns, but are upgradable in many aspects! Seafarers gain a skill that allows them to breathe underwater!
- Minecraft Dungeons items are simply... items from Minecraft Dungeons, such as when the Mage gets a Lightning Rod
And we'll save the spell focus for:
Spells!
Spells are used from the library of Ars Nouveau, trading the regular glyph construction and writing to allow you to buy the spells in exchange for experience points. In order to unlock spells to purchase, you must first unlock the spell focus. The spell focuses are:
- Fire
- Water
- Air
- Earth
- Summoning
- Necromancy
- Abjuration
- Alteration
- Conjuration
- Manipulation
Last but not least, there are:
Mobs!
Dungeon exploration is also rewarded through mob hunting. There are various rewards for killing 25 Creepers, 25 Pillagers, 100 Piglins, 100 Spiders, and even 250 Zombies!
If you do decide to alter or modify this before re-uploading, all I ask is that you credit my original efforts somewhere in the description
