Player-written loot books are now chosen for you
Community books found in chests are now picked per player instead of at random. You'll be handed books you haven't read yet, and the same one won't turn up twice in a life — unless it's still unread and you've left it two whole carriage groups behind. And once you've read a community book, it stays read in every new world you start.
- Prefers books you haven't read yet
- Books you've read stay read across brand-new worlds, not just the one you read them in
- No repeats within a life, until you've travelled two full carriage groups past where you found one
- A slot meant for a player's book now reliably serves one, instead of sometimes falling back to a built-in book
- On multiplayer worlds each player gets their own selection, matched to their own language
Carriages stay on-theme in the upside-down & end-islands stretches
Fixed the train pulling carriages, rooms and loot from every biome stage at once while crossing the upside-down and end-islands stretches (and around one high-difficulty gap). Those stretches now stay themed to the stage you've actually reached — quartz stays quartz — instead of turning into a jumble of all stages.
- Upside-down and end-islands stretches keep the current stage's theme
- No more all-stages jumble around Diff-Level 67-69
Truer distance stats behind the scenes
Death and run reports now record how far down the line you actually reached — measured from where you spawned — plus which world band you died in. This sharpens the private stats dashboard only; there is no in-game change.
New 'Ways to Help' menu
The title screen now has a Support the Mod button (where Minecraft Realms used to be) plus a Patreon shortcut. It opens a page gathering every way you can help build out Dungeon Train: donate directly, back it on Patreon, use the server-hosting affiliate link when you rent a server, share the mod with content creators, and give feedback or join the Discord.
- Support the Mod + Patreon buttons on the title screen (replacing the Realms button)
- Direct donation, Patreon, and a server-hosting affiliate link in one place
- Prompts to share the mod with creators and to give feedback / join the Discord
Chuncks — a mostly-void band of scattered floating chunks
The train now crosses a new Chuncks region: mostly open void, sprinkled with the occasional real overworld chunk. Some are full-height islands; others are just a floating slab of the surface with a flat cut-off bottom. The void thickens gradually as you approach, and the train keeps rolling across on its floating track. It sits late in the world-gen cycle, after the upside-down band.
- New Chuncks band — mostly void with occasional floating overworld chunks (full-height or top-down slices)
- Void ramps in gradually on approach, with an overworld buffer before the band
- Fully configurable: band length, void density, slice ratio, entry fade, and lead-in gap
0.484.0
Editor hotkeys stay silent in survival
Pressing the editor menu keys (block-variant, container-contents, template-blocks) while in survival no longer flashes editor status messages on your action bar.
- No more spurious 'requires OP' / 'Not in an editor plot' flashes in survival
Suspicious sand on the train digs up real loot
Brushing suspicious sand or gravel found on the train now uncovers a random archaeology find — pottery sherds, gems, and more — just like suspicious sand out in the world. Before, train-placed suspicious blocks brushed up empty.
- Suspicious sand/gravel on carriages now yields archaeology loot when brushed
- Same loot resolves every time for a given block (deterministic per carriage)
