Description
This pack isn't designed for single player, so if that's what you're looking for, you're not going to find it here. However, if you love D&D or other tabletop role-playing games, and want a similar experience, then you might be interested in Dungeon Mastery. Inspired by the mod of the same name (now long dead, sadly), this pack is a loose compilation of mods that are primarily tools to help run a small role-playing server, for groups of 3 or 4 players.

The mission statement for this pack is fun over faff.
I've seen so many RPG style mods fall victim to the MMO-ification of the game, because they tried too hard to "balance" things or control the outcomes of events or whatever, so I've actively tried to avoid those kinds of mods, in favor of mods that put story first and numbers second. The more imbalanced combat is, the more unexpected the players reactions to situations, and the weirder and more broken the game mechanics get, the more fun it is to try and explain it away with roleplay, after all.
To that end, the Reliquary mod adds a bunch of really fun wacky items which do interesting junk, which I feel fits the theme of weird game-breaking mechanics.
Alternatively, you can play as a Druid or Demonologist and cast an assortment of spells using Roots or Goetia, transform into a Vampire or a Werewolf - or go the old-fashioned route and just grab your trusty sword and shield. Discounting that however, this pack isn't really about combat. It's there, but in my mind it should take a back seat.
This pack, is all about the story.
With Lore Expansion and Custom NPCs, you have a lot of options for delivering the story to your players in fun ways. With minecraft you have the tools to build fun settings and structures to explore.
As a player character you can have a broad array of appearances using More Player Models 2, combined with custom skins, you can pretty much look however you want. Faun? No problem. Naga? You bet. Drider? Sure thing.
Role-play is at the core of what this pack is all about.
Also worth noting that you can also take advantage of utilities outside the game like MCDungeon, or mods in the pack like Roguelike Dungeons or Recurrent Complex if you want to generate some little delves or unique landmarks to incorporate into your map,
This pack really is just a boiler plate for you guys to build on top of. Most if not all of the mods allow for a lot of configuration, and I've only really futzed with a few of them and set them to what I think seems reasonable, but there's a lot more that can be changed to suit your needs. So by all means, have a poke around in the config files and muck around with them - that's the point of them after all.
Anyway, have a fiddle around and have fun with this pack! c:
(And maybe show me what you build / record your adventures and share them around?)
