🜂 Chapter I — The Silence of Heaven

No one remembers the first roar, but all remember the last. When the Alpha took flight for the final time, the sky split in two, half light and half shadow, and the entire world trembled. The wind burned, the sea boiled, and men, once masters of fire, knelt beneath the weight of their creation. For countless ages, dragons and humans shared the same air. There were no borders, no fear. Fire was not destruction, but life, a symbol of the pact between the Children of Heaven and the Children of Earth. Cities floated on conjured wind currents, and wings cut through the clouds like silver blades. The world prospered on the fragile balance between flame and breath, but no pact survives greed. When man discovered that a dragon's heart beat even after death, he saw in it a source of power. The energy of Dragon Hearts could light entire cities, power colossal weapons, and warm nations during winter. What began as reverence turned into hunting. At first, the dragons couldn't resist.They believed the bond with humans was stronger than pain, but pain has a way of teaching. And when the first dragon fell, the world understood that the Age of Heaven had ended. The Alpha, the oldest of all, sought to preserve the balance. He summoned the last of his kind to the heights of the world, where the wind is so pure that not even sound can touch it. There he tore the firmament and created the Celestial Abyss, a luminous rift between worlds, a refuge where dragons could exist without human fear. Before disappearing into the flames, he left his words to the winds:

“When the fire sleeps and the wind cries, the Children of Earth will seek the Lost Heaven. And among them will be born one who will hear the roar again.”

Then the Alpha departed, taking the last dragons with him. The silence that followed was so profound that even the gods looked away. Thus began the Age of Ashes. The fire fell asleep. The floating cities fell from the sky like dead stars. The seas swallowed harbors, the forests turned to ash, and men learned to fear the wind. For centuries, the world forgot. It forgot the names, the faces, and the songs. But the stones remembered, and in the oldest caves the echo of wings still whispered beneath the earth. It was there, in the shadows of oblivion, that the new beginning began. No one knows when, but something awakened, a spark, a whisper, a memory. The winds became unstable, storms carried blue lightning, and on full-moon nights, shadows crossed the sky.Some said they were spirits, others monsters. But the elders, those who still dreamed of the sound of scales beating against the air, knew the truth: the dragons were calling. The human kingdoms began to change. Power returned to circulation, and with it hope and fear. Prophets roamed the roads, crying that the Celestial Abyss was opening. Explorers disappeared trying to reach the mountains where the wind sang ancient names, and amidst it all were born the Descendants of the Wind, children who heard the whisper of currents, felt the warmth of the sleeping fire beneath their skin, and dreamed of golden eyes. The world, once again, was awakening. But awakening brings with it the weight of forgetting, for when man calls to heaven, heaven answers. And heaven never forgets.

🜂 Capítulo I — O Silêncio do Céu

Ninguém se lembra do primeiro rugido, mas todos se lembram do último. Quando o Alfa alçou voo pela derradeira vez, o céu partiu-se em dois, metade luz e metade sombra, e o mundo inteiro estremeceu. O vento queimava, o mar fervia e os homens, outrora dominadores do fogo, ajoelharam-se sob o peso do que criaram. Durante eras incontáveis, dragões e humanos dividiram o mesmo ar. Não havia fronteiras, nem medo. O fogo não era destruição, mas vida, símbolo do pacto entre os Filhos do Céu e os Filhos da Terra. Cidades flutuavam sobre correntes de vento conjuradas, e as asas cortavam as nuvens como lâminas de prata. O mundo prosperava sustentado pelo equilíbrio frágil entre a chama e o sopro, mas nenhum pacto sobrevive à cobiça. Quando o homem descobriu que o coração de um dragão pulsava mesmo depois da morte, viu nele uma fonte de poder. A energia dos Corações de Dragão podia iluminar cidades inteiras, mover armas colossais e aquecer nações durante o inverno. O que começou como reverência transformou-se em caça. No início, os dragões não resistiram. Acreditavam que o vínculo com os humanos era mais forte do que a dor, mas a dor tem o hábito de ensinar. E quando o primeiro dragão caiu, o mundo entendeu que a Era dos Céus havia terminado. O Alfa, o mais antigo entre todos, tentou preservar o equilíbrio. Convocou os últimos de sua espécie ao alto do mundo, onde o vento é tão puro que nem o som consegue tocá-lo. Ali rasgou o firmamento e criou o Abismo Celeste, uma fenda luminosa entre mundos, um refúgio onde os dragões poderiam existir sem o medo humano. Antes de desaparecer nas chamas, deixou suas palavras aos ventos:

“Quando o fogo dormir e o vento chorar, os Filhos da Terra buscarão o Céu Perdido. E entre eles nascerá aquele que ouvirá novamente o rugido.”

Então o Alfa partiu, levando consigo os últimos dragões. O silêncio que ficou foi tão profundo que até os deuses desviaram o olhar. Assim começou a Era das Cinzas. O fogo adormeceu. As cidades flutuantes caíram do céu como estrelas mortas. Os mares engoliram portos, as florestas tornaram-se cinzas e os homens aprenderam a temer o vento.Durante séculos, o mundo esqueceu. Esqueceu os nomes, os rostos e as canções. Mas as pedras se lembravam, e nas cavernas mais antigas o eco de asas ainda sussurrava sob a terra. Foi ali, nas sombras do esquecimento, que o recomeço começou. Ninguém sabe quando, mas algo despertou, uma fagulha, um sussurro, uma lembrança. Os ventos tornaram-se instáveis, tempestades carregavam relâmpagos azuis, e nas noites de lua cheia sombras cruzavam o firmamento. Alguns diziam que eram espíritos, outros monstros. Mas os mais velhos, aqueles que ainda sonhavam com o som das escamas batendo contra o ar, sabiam a verdade: os dragões estavam chamando. Os reinos humanos começaram a mudar. O poder voltou a circular, e com ele a esperança e o medo. Profetas vagavam pelas estradas, gritando que o Abismo Celeste estava se abrindo. Exploradores desapareciam tentando alcançar as montanhas onde o vento cantava nomes antigos, e em meio a tudo isso nasceram os Descendentes do Vento, crianças que ouviam o sussurro das correntes, sentiam o calor do fogo adormecido sob a pele e sonhavam com olhos dourados. O mundo, uma vez mais, estava despertando. Mas o despertar traz consigo o peso do esquecimento, pois quando o homem chama o céu, o céu responde. E o céu nunca esquece.
