This modpack revolves mainly around Minecolonies, which allows you to build your own colony and manage the work its citizen do.

Ice & Fire: Dragons and Wyrmroost, add dragons and other mythical beings for you to fight (and perhaps even tame to add to your growing Kingdom to come). You'll find the mightiest beasts underground guarding their treasure hoards.

Dragoncolonies is a rather low-tech modpack but it includes the magic mod Ars Nouveau with which you can build your own spells to use and play around with, giving you another incentive to go to the end and defeat the ender dragon to get Archmages gear and become a master of the arcane arts. If you prefer using your own strength, you can build your own tools by finding an ancient forging structure deep in the earth and forging your own Tetra tools.

Otherwise you can collect and breed the perfect horse with Realistic Horse genetics which can also pull carts to transport mobs or even your friends, max out your hearts by cooking and eating every food item, or simply explore to your hearts content and see the new pretty landscapes added by Oh the Biomes You'll Go enhanced by the realistic looking Dynamic Trees - which extends even to both the Nether and End dimension, so there's lots of pretty biomes to find.

If you want a map you'll need to craft an Atlas, which acts like a mix of minecrafts vanilla map and the more popular minimap mods.

To enter the nether you'll need to find an altar underground and jump in, to get back: activate a reclaimer scattered around the nether with a few gold blocks, it will beam you back up.

This modpack does not include quests as of yet. (Only a simple bounty board)

I plan to add Lycanites' Mobs at a later point in time once I've found a configuration I like.
