# Don't Go Up — Modpack License

This license governs the "Don't Go Up" modpack (referred to as "the Modpack"): the
curated selection and combination of mods, the configuration files, datapacks,
scripts, custom recipes, world settings, documentation, artwork, and any other
original content assembled by the copyright holder to create the Modpack.

## 1. Scope

This license applies **only** to the original content of the Modpack — the
curation, configuration, and any first-party content authored by the copyright
holder (including the `dontgoup` mod, which is additionally governed by its own
Custom Mod License).

This license does **not** grant any rights over the third-party mods bundled with
or referenced by the Modpack. Every included mod remains the property of its
respective author and is governed by that author's own license. Some included mods
prohibit inclusion in publicly distributed modpacks. You are responsible for
complying with the license of every mod in the Modpack.

## 2. Permissions

You may:

* Download and use the Modpack for personal use.
* Run the Modpack on a private server for use among friends, family, or members of
  that private server.
* Modify the Modpack's configuration and content for your own private use.

## 3. Restrictions

You may not:

* **Publicly distribute** the Modpack, or make it available for download by the
  general public, without prior written permission from the copyright holder AND
  without holding valid redistribution rights for every third-party mod it
  contains.
* Upload the Modpack to any public hosting or launcher platform (including but not
  limited to CurseForge, Modrinth, Technic, or FTB) unless the distribution method
  complies with the redistribution terms of every included mod. Platforms that
  bundle mod files directly (e.g. Technic) require explicit redistribution rights
  for each mod.
* Sell, license, rent, or otherwise commercially exploit the Modpack.
* Place the Modpack or any part of it behind a paywall or require payment to access
  it.
* Claim authorship of the Modpack's original content or remove existing copyright
  notices.

## 4. Attribution

Any permitted public distribution of the Modpack must credit the copyright holder
with a notice substantially similar to:

> "Don't Go Up" modpack by whovian64. Redistributed with permission and in
> compliance with the licenses of all included mods.

## 5. Third-Party Mods

Each mod included in the Modpack is the work of its respective author and retains
its own license and copyright. Nothing in this license overrides, replaces, or
weakens the license of any included mod. Where a mod's license conflicts with the
permissions granted here, that mod's license takes precedence for that mod.

## 6. Private Modpacks

Private use of the Modpack — solely for personal play or among friends, family, or
members of a private server, and not publicly distributed or made available for
download by the general public — is permitted.

## 7. Ownership

All rights not expressly granted by this license remain with the copyright holder.

## 8. License Version

Future releases of the Modpack may be distributed under updated license terms. Each
released version of the Modpack remains governed by the license that accompanied
that version unless explicitly stated otherwise.
