Domaine du Pandémonium is a cooperative horror survival modpack created Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 using Forge. Designed primarily for multiplayer servers, it combines horror creatures, exploration, firearms, proximity voice chat, and custom spawning rules that separate players at the beginning of their adventure.
Players first arrive on Skyland, a floating-island lobby in a separate dimension. Interacting with the guide NPC sends each player to an individual random location in the Overworld, between 500 and 4,000 blocks from the world spawn. Players must gather resources, establish shelter, and explore their surroundings to reunite with their friends.
The modpack includes the following gameplay features:
- Horror encounters: hostile creatures and unsettling encounters add danger to gathering resources, exploring caves, and travelling between shelters.
- Proximity voice chat and radios: Simple Voice Chat allows nearby players to speak, while craftable walkie-talkies provide communication over longer distances. Regular player text chat and private messaging commands are disabled.
- Custom respawn rules: players who die without a valid bed in the Overworld receive a new random spawn location. Establishing a bed gives players a reliable place to return to.
- Firearms and ammunition: TaCZ adds weapons that players can craft and use during exploration and combat.
- Expanded exploration and atmosphere: additional structures, seasonal changes, darker environments, and weather effects make the survival world more varied and threatening.
- A dedicated multiplayer setup: the project includes a matching server package, installation documentation, and administrative tools for managing the lobby and helping players with spawning issues.
The main gameplay focuses on survival, exploration, and cooperation. Players progress by collecting equipment, building a shared refuge, maintaining communication, and preparing for expeditions into dangerous areas.
