Dimensional Upgrade

Story:

After a long time punching trees and digging holes, you find a portal to a new world, the MODDED DIMENSION, with many new places to explore, and things to do!

Description:

The focus of the pack is making the overworld as vanilla compatible as possible. Then go to the modded dimension, where all the new fun is.

This is intended for those players that want to try modded minecraft, but don't want modded blocks and mobs to alter their vanilla experience.

To make this possible, most of the mod configs where tweaked to blacklist the overworld.

FAQ:

• What is the purpose of this pack:

  • This pack was made with continuity on mind. Some players like to play on a world for long times, building and shaping it as much as they want, and if it is on a server, even make a community in it. And other ones like to toy with every mod that comes to their hands, often having to make a new playrun to make it work. This is my take on a middle level solution to a long term modded playthrough.

•  World compatibility:

  • As stated above, one of the main goals of the pack is continuity, so to make this possible I will attempt to make true this 2 points.

       1- Make the overworld as futureproof as posible. As it basically is a vanilla world, this makes that it will be always be compatible with any version of the pack, even between minecraft versions (Unless Mojang or Forge breaks compatibility very hard).

       2- For the modded dimension, I will try to not break it with updates on the same minecraft version, but things can change too much on diferent mc versions (Mods don't update, mods make breaking changes between major versions..), so you may have to redo the modded dimension.

         -As a side note, any mod block/item/mob that you take into the overworld is also susceptible to this changes.

• My bed explode!

  • The modded dimension is a place filled with mystical forces, that govern the laws of the spacetime. Mundane methods of changing this, like sleeping, will not work on this realm. Any attemp to fight this will be seized with hostility.

• Can I load my vanilla save with this modpack?
  

  • Yes, you can!

    As the overworld uses a vanilla generator, you can load any vanilla world of the same mc version, and it will work just great, without making horrible chunk borders, and things like that, making it a true upgrade into the modded world!

    As of testing, i even loaded an amplified save, and it generated new chunks just as a the vanilla client would.

    Note that Nether and End dimensions on this pack are made only with moded settings, so you might want to regenerate those dimensions. There are many tutorials on the web on how to do it.

Known bugs:

• As of now, there isn't any survival way to go to the moded dimension.
  A workaround is setup a global waystone, go /tpj 2, and make another waystone there.
• Some mobs appear on the vanilla dimension, due to mod authors not adding a dimension blacklist on their mods.
