Major Update | v1.4

Biggest Decky Edition update so far.

This update focuses on improving the overall experience across the board: visuals, performance, immersion, audio, and quality of life while staying true to Decky Edition’s initial goal of being a polished Steam Deck first Vanilla+ experience.

Shader Overhaul:

Shaders have been completely reworked.

Euphoria has been removed and replaced with a much better optimized setup that fits Decky Edition’s vision far better.

Compared to the previous shader setup which offered lower visual fidelity while usually sitting around 25–30 FPS this new setup is a massive upgrade in both looks and performance offering up to 40-60 FPS in most scenarios.

The pack now includes 2 curated shader options:

• a beautiful stylized preset (default)
• a more grounded alternative for players who prefer a more natural look

Recommended cap for shader use: 40–50 FPS

Performance & Stability:

34 Mod Updates

A ton of included mods were updated for bug fixes, compatibility improvements, and better overall stability.

Particle Rain Tweaks

Particle Rain has been optimized to reduce performance impact while keeping the atmosphere.

Smart Particles Added

Big particle optimization improvement.

Less wasted rendering, smoother gameplay.

Removed Optional Extras

To reduce pack size and keep things cleaner:

• Controlify Optional Module removed
• Tooltip Overhaul Optional Module removed

New Visual & Immersion Additions

Added:

• Wakes → better water interaction visuals
• Effectual → improved interaction effects
• Perception → subtle immersion enhancements
• Gaura’s 2D Projectiles → cleaner stylized projectile visuals
• A Good Place → nicer block placement feedback

Also removed Clean Tooltips and Overflowing Bars for better resource pack compatibility.

Updated Screenshots

The pack screenshots have been fully updated to reflect what Decky Edition now looks like starting with v1.4.

And yes, these are actual gameplay captures, not staged cinematic showcase shots.

Audio Improvements

The world should sound better now too.

Added:

• Immersive Thunder
• Vocal Villagers
• Ambient Sounds

This makes the world feel much more alive without becoming distracting or overwhelming.

Quality of Life

Status Effect Bars

Potion/effect durations are now visible directly on the HUD.

No more opening inventory just to check remaining time.

Crops Love Rain

A small gameplay tweak that makes rainy weather a little more meaningful.

Fixes

Golem Spawn Fix

Fixes golem spawning behavior.
