You are stranded on a world of floating islands made of dirt with only some food and a mysterious quest book. When nighttime falls strange mobs come out and the darkness covers everything, ever torches don't seem to last forever. When the darkness becomes too dark a fearsome creature called a grue spawns to destroy you. With no water and limited food how can you survive and build the necessary technology from mods like applied energistics and thermal expansion to thrive on this new world?
