Build mechanical contraptions and doodads with Create. Cogwheels abound for all of your mechanopunk needs. Automate collection and processing of resources, build neat little minecart contraptions or just build the coolest door ever. Go through your own industrial revolution with Immersive Engineering, who doesn't want to power their base with a big noisy diesel generator? I know I do. Or turn up the pressure with pneumaticraft and explode your way to technical ascendancy. There's a copious amount of industrial style building block additions also, so build the factory of your dreams.
Cast the fanciest of spells with Ars Nouveau, a mod I am still surprised I manage to spell the name of correctly at least 75% of the time. Do everything tech can do but with a book! Speaking of books, step your enchanting game up with Apotheosis, another mod whose name I consistantly mispell but looked up specifically to write this description.
Create a thriving settlement with MineColonies. Hear your colonists tell you exactly whose gold it is as they do your bidding. Build resource production buildings that definitely end up more of a resource sink than production - that's all part of the fun!
