1.) Turns out there is a way to get liquid obsidian in a nether only run. Mushroom Stew + Lava makes liquid obsidian in an alloyer. Strange, but okay.

 

2.) Added Ex Nihilo. This fixes most of my other concerns. Lapis, Sand, and Clay are now obtainable in the nether 

 

3.) I'm keeping the ability to use water in the nether. With Ex Nihilo, you can make water in a crucible - and it seems in the spirit of this agricultural modpack to be able to terraform the nether.

4.) Ex nihilo gives access to overworld trees, and thus leaves. However, the threat of burning to death is still a huge issue, at the start of a run. Will continue looking into that for future updates. 

 

For now, consider the "Nether Update" released.
