Crimson Mayhem
Crimson Mayhem is a large Forge 1.20.1 Minecraft modpack built for players who want a world full of technology, magic, exploration, bosses, automation, quests, farming, storage, dimensions, and unpredictable moments.
This pack is made to feel like a long-term adventure world. You can start simple with mining, farming, building, and basic machines, then grow into massive factories, advanced power systems, spellcasting, storage networks, space travel, boss fights, custom dimensions, and late-game crafting goals. Whether you like tech, magic, building, exploration, or just causing a little mayhem with friends, Crimson Mayhem gives you a lot to do.
The pack includes over 100 mods, carefully mixed together to create a big modded survival experience without locking players into only one playstyle.
What Is Crimson Mayhem?
Crimson Mayhem is a kitchen-sink adventure and progression modpack with quests to help guide players through the major mods. You are free to play however you want, but the pack includes enough structure to give you long-term goals.
You can build a Create factory, automate resources with Mekanism, make a giant AE2 or Refined Storage network, become a powerful mage with Ars Nouveau or Blood Magic, explore new dimensions, fight bosses, collect artifacts, farm resources with Mystical Agriculture and Productive Bees, generate huge amounts of power, and push toward powerful endgame gear.
The modpack is designed to be fun for singleplayer, multiplayer, and streaming. It has serious progression, but it also leaves room for funny accidents, weird moments, unexpected deaths, and chaotic discoveries.
Technology and Automation
Crimson Mayhem has a huge tech side.
Create is one of the main automation mods in the pack, along with several Create addons like Create: New Age, Create Crafts & Additions, Create: Steam 'n' Rails, Create: Enchantment Industry, Create Deco, Slice & Dice, Create Ore Excavation, and more. These mods let you build moving contraptions, machines, trains, farms, processing lines, and mechanical factories.
Mekanism adds advanced machines, ore processing, power generation, tools, and late-game systems like fusion and antimatter. Thermal Series adds classic machine processing, energy, farming support, item transport, and useful tech progression. Industrial Foregoing, Powah, RFTools, LaserIO, Pipez, Ender IO, and Ender Storage give you even more ways to move items, generate power, automate tasks, and build efficient systems.
If you enjoy building machines that make more machines, this pack gives you plenty of room to go wild.
Magic and Power
The magic side of Crimson Mayhem is just as big as the tech side.
Ars Nouveau lets you create custom spells, magical automation, familiars, and powerful caster builds. Botania adds mana generation, magical flowers, runes, relics, and Gaia progression. Blood Magic brings rituals, blood orbs, sacrifices, and darker progression systems. Occultism adds spirit-based rituals, storage, summoning, and unique resources.
Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks adds combat magic and spellcasting gear, while Mahou Tsukai, EvilCraft, Reliquary, Artifacts, and ProjectE add even more powerful tools, relics, abilities, and late-game options.
The pack does not force you to choose between technology and magic. You can specialize in one, mix both, or eventually master everything.
Exploration and Dimensions
Crimson Mayhem greatly expands exploration.
Biomes O' Plenty and Terralith improve the Overworld with more interesting terrain and biomes. YUNG's structure mods overhaul dungeons, mineshafts, strongholds, desert temples, jungle temples, ocean monuments, Nether fortresses, bridges, the End island, and more. This makes exploration feel more rewarding and less repetitive.
The pack also includes major dimension and adventure mods like Blue Skies, The Undergarden, Deeper and Darker, and Ad Astra. You can travel beyond the Overworld, explore dangerous new areas, discover new materials, and push into space progression.
Alex's Mobs and Mowzie's Mobs add more life and danger to the world, with new creatures, enemies, and boss-style encounters.
Storage and Base Building
A large modpack needs strong storage options, and Crimson Mayhem includes several.
Applied Energistics 2 and Refined Storage both give you powerful digital storage systems for organizing huge amounts of items. Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage help with early and mid-game storage, travel, and base organization. Ender Storage, LaserIO, Pipez, and other logistics mods make item movement and automation easier as your base grows.
For builders, the pack includes plenty of new blocks, decorations, materials, machines, and themed items from mods like Create Deco, Farmer's Delight, Biomes O' Plenty, Blue Skies, Botania, and the various exploration mods.
Farming, Food, and Resources
Crimson Mayhem includes more than just mining for resources.
Farmer's Delight expands cooking and food progression, while Mystical Agriculture lets players grow resources over time. Productive Bees adds bee-based resource production, giving players another route toward automation and passive materials.
These systems are especially useful for long-term worlds where players want to build large bases, automate crafting, and support multiple types of progression.
Quests and Progression
The pack includes FTB Quests to help guide players through the experience. Quest chapters cover early game progression, automation, power, storage, Create, Mekanism, Thermal Series, Applied Energistics 2, Refined Storage, magic mods, farming, exploration, ProjectE, Productive Bees, and endgame goals.
The quests are there to help players understand what to do next without removing freedom. You can follow the quest book closely, or you can use it as a checklist while you explore the pack in your own way.
The Chaos Mod
Crimson Mayhem also includes the Chaos Ascension content, which was designed by AI as a fun side project. It adds extra chaotic flavor to the pack through custom progression, strange items, bosses, dimensions, rewards, and unpredictable moments.
It is not the only focus of the modpack, but it helps give Crimson Mayhem its identity. Think of it as the pack's wild card: something extra layered on top of the tech, magic, exploration, and survival experience.
Quality of Life
Crimson Mayhem includes many quality-of-life mods to make the experience smoother.
JEI helps with recipes, Jade and The One Probe help identify blocks and mobs, JourneyMap helps with navigation, Nature's Compass helps locate biomes, Waystones makes travel easier, FTB Chunks and FTB Teams support multiplayer claims and teams, and FTB Ultimine makes mining and gathering less tedious.
Performance and utility mods like Embeddium, FerriteCore, ModernFix, Clumps, Spark, Observable, Controlling, Searchables, Patchouli, GuideME, and others help make a large modpack easier to play and manage.
Streaming
Crimson Mayhem is planned to be streamed on Twitch and YouTube.
