CrewsonCraft 2017 is a "mega" mod pack, combining as many mods together in a pack optimized for server play with maximum mod diversity.
With the selected mods, you can automate many farming tasks and crafting thanks to the availability of great mods like EnderIO and AE2 and thanks to Chickens, rare resources can no longer be rare. If you don't want to use Chickens you can use many other ways of harvesting near-infinite resources without causing laggy play or chewing up the landscape with Quarries. And that's a good thing, because there are quite a few enhancements to worldgen and biomes that are fun to explore.
Work has been done to normalize resources so you don't have 4 kinds of copper, etc, and so machines will support items from other mods.
