Createch 2 0.8.4c — One Civilization

Cumulative Player Changelog — 0.8.1b → 0.8.4c

0.8.4c represents several major updates worth of work since the last public 0.8.1b build.

The Stone → Infinity campaign is still Createch 2, but almost every major system has been pulled closer together.

The goal is simple:

You should no longer feel like you are completing a sequence of mods. You should feel like you are building a civilization.


ONE REALITY

TerraFirmaCraft is no longer just the early game.

TFC now acts as the physical foundation beneath the entire campaign.

  • Geology, prospecting, mining, metallurgy, agriculture, food, climate and physical resource access have been integrated much more consistently across the pack.

  • Systems that previously fell back to normal Minecraft assumptions have been brought under Createch's world rules.

  • Duplicate and bypassing resource generation has been heavily reduced.

  • Structure loot has been tightened so exploration cannot casually skip major industrial or planetary progression.

  • Planetary resources are increasingly something you survey, extract and build infrastructure around instead of finding randomly.

  • Productive Bees, agriculture, food systems, villages and other TFC-crossing content have received additional integration.

  • Late automation can overcome earlier limitations, but it must actually be earned.

The result is no longer:

TFC early game → normal modded Minecraft.

It is:

a TFC civilization that eventually invents industrial automation, electricity, chemistry, computers, nuclear engineering, aviation and spaceflight.


COMPLETE ELECTRICAL REWORK

Create: Power Grid has been retired as the pack's electrical authority.

Create: Electro Energetics now owns the electrical grid.

Electrical engineering now revolves around a more unified system of:

  • generation;

  • distribution;

  • wiring;

  • voltage and current;

  • measurement;

  • protection;

  • switching;

  • electromechanical conversion;

  • electrical failure;

  • electric infrastructure;

  • downstream FE conversion.

Electrical mistakes have physical consequences.

Overloaded conductors, component damage, electrocution and other electrical hazards make power something you actually engineer rather than a number that appears inside a machine.

Modern Industrialization, AE2, Mekanism and other powered systems remain consumers of the electrical civilization you build rather than becoming competing power systems.


A REAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

The Chemical Age has received one of its largest expansions.

Chemica is now integrated as the applied industrial-chemistry bridge between TFMG and Mekanism.

The chemical progression now has a much clearer lineage:

petroleum → refining → industrial chemicals → acids and organic chemistry → polymers and specialty materials → pressure chemistry → nuclear chemistry

This includes stronger integration of:

  • TFMG petroleum feedstocks;

  • acids;

  • chemical fluids;

  • polymers;

  • specialty materials;

  • industrial storage and handling;

  • dangerous chemicals;

  • MI processing;

  • later Mekanism pressure chemistry.

Chemica does not get its own parallel geology or free resource ladder. Its materials have been integrated into the same resource and progression rules as the rest of Createch.

Refineries and chemical plants should increasingly feel like actual industrial districts rather than a few disconnected machines.


MORE ENGINEERING CONSEQUENCES

Several systems introduced or expanded since 8.1b now make bad engineering physically matter.

Industrial Fire

Burnt has been integrated into the industrial world.

Fire, industrial materials, layout and recovery matter more, especially around high-risk infrastructure.

Deep-Sea Engineering

Deep Seas / Crush Depth systems now have an authored place in progression.

Underwater engineering can involve:

  • depth;

  • pressure;

  • hull limits;

  • decompression;

  • ballast;

  • pressurization;

  • oxygen equipment;

  • underwater propulsion.

The ocean is becoming an engineering environment rather than just another place to swim.

Radiation and Extreme Environments

Radiation, pressure, pollution, hostile atmospheres and other environmental systems are increasingly tied into the same industrial progression instead of existing as isolated gimmicks.


CREATE DOESN'T DISAPPEAR ANYMORE

One of the largest changes since 8.1b is philosophical:

Create remains the mechanical language of the civilization.

You are not supposed to build a beautiful mechanical factory and then abandon that entire style once electric machines arrive.

Later progression increasingly preserves the ancestry of earlier technology through:

  • mechanical subassemblies;

  • motors;

  • pumps;

  • shafts;

  • gears;

  • bearings;

  • conveyors;

  • fluid handling;

  • sequenced assembly;

  • deployment;

  • mechanical crafting;

  • physical logistics.

Advanced machines may come from MI, Mekanism, AE2 or another system, but the civilization that manufactures, supplies and integrates them still visibly descends from the workshop you built earlier.

Gregification through dependency.
Creatification through embodiment.


FACTORIES CAN BECOME MACHINES

Sable and Create Aeronautics integration has become a much larger part of Createch's future-facing engineering layer.

Instead of treating vehicles as decorative shells, 8.4 begins formalizing the idea that the technology you already earned can become part of a moving machine.

The architecture now supports the fantasy of things such as:

  • industrial aircraft;

  • mobile workshops;

  • factory trains;

  • exploration vehicles;

  • mobile refineries;

  • cargo vessels;

  • planetary support craft;

  • mining ships;

  • eventually larger mobile industrial platforms.

A moving factory does not receive free resources or free power.

It still needs to solve:

  • generation;

  • storage;

  • electrical distribution;

  • fuel;

  • fluids;

  • cargo;

  • processing;

  • controls;

  • endurance;

  • maintenance;

  • docking.

Automated Logistics and docking increasingly form the boundary between stationary industry and mobile industry.


COMPUTERS NOW HAVE AN ENGINEERING ROLE

CC:Tweaked, Synaxis, Avionics and related control systems have been pushed toward one common purpose:

computers supervise real machines; they do not replace them.

Computing can increasingly be used for:

  • telemetry;

  • instrumentation;

  • alarms;

  • control rooms;

  • machinery supervision;

  • vehicle systems;

  • avionics;

  • docking;

  • navigation;

  • environmental monitoring;

  • remote operation;

  • mission control.

Computers can decide what happens.

They do not magically teleport the materials, fluids or energy required to make it happen.


SPACE IS BECOMING A CAMPAIGN

Space has received one of the largest conceptual upgrades in the pack.

Previously, too much of space could still be understood as:

build rocket → visit planet → collect material → build next thing

The intended progression is now much closer to:

factory → refinery → launch complex → spacecraft → planetary expedition → industrial outpost → logistics network → planetary industry → spacefaring civilization

Your existing civilization now matters when you leave Terra.

A serious space program increasingly depends on:

  • propellant production;

  • structural materials;

  • electrical infrastructure;

  • avionics;

  • computers;

  • environmental systems;

  • manufacturing;

  • logistics;

  • planetary geology;

  • extraction infrastructure.

Major planets are also being pushed toward having actual engineering purposes rather than existing only because they contain a unique ore.

Late-game space is intended to evolve from:

expedition → infrastructure → civilization.

Terra and your old factories remain part of that economy.


PLANETARY INDUSTRY

Off-world progression has been tightened around permanent infrastructure.

Planetary operations increasingly reward building:

  • extraction bases;

  • power systems;

  • storage;

  • local processing;

  • communications;

  • environmental protection;

  • fuel depots;

  • logistics terminals;

  • controlled agriculture;

  • industrial outposts.

The goal is for arriving on another world to feel like:

“I brought my civilization here.”

—not like starting another unrelated mod.


THE MINING-SHIP FANTASY

8.4 lays the foundation for one of Createch's flagship endgame machines:

a mining ship that is a mining ship because of what you engineered into it.

Not because the game handed you a block called “Mining Ship.”

A mining vessel can conceptually combine:

  • a Sable/Aeronautics platform;

  • propulsion;

  • electrical infrastructure;

  • geological instruments;

  • prospecting;

  • extraction equipment;

  • cargo;

  • processing;

  • AE2;

  • CC control;

  • sensors;

  • fluids and fuel;

  • communications.

Its capabilities emerge from the same systems you spent the rest of the campaign learning.

That principle extends to the rest of Createch's mobile industry.


QUESTBOOK & ONBOARDING OVERHAUL

The questbook has received extensive cleanup since 8.1b.

Major work includes:

  • rewritten player-facing explanations;

  • removal of developer/AI-sounding prose;

  • reduced duplicate information;

  • clearer progression handoffs;

  • stronger explanations of WHY infrastructure exists;

  • better recovery guidance;

  • clearer component hierarchy;

  • improved cross-chapter navigation;

  • better teaching before dangerous systems become mandatory;

  • clearer planetary requirements;

  • explicit rail-before-flight progression;

  • better explanation of chemistry, electricity, controls and environmental engineering.

The Age ladder remains the main campaign.

Engineering disciplines now increasingly explain what you are actually learning inside those Ages.


EMI IS NOW THE PRIMARY RECIPE UX

Createch has moved toward EMI as its primary recipe and item-discovery interface.

JEI compatibility remains where required, but players should increasingly have one clear recipe-browsing experience instead of competing interfaces.

Component presentation has also been cleaned up so similar-looking motors, circuits and industrial parts make more sense within the larger progression hierarchy.


PROGRESSION HARDENING

A large number of smaller changes have closed progression shortcuts and confusing handoffs.

Highlights include:

  • rail-before-flight is enforced more explicitly;

  • planetary resources are better protected from random loot bypasses;

  • chemical progression has been checked for circular dependencies;

  • later abstraction systems cannot replace first discovery;

  • automation is increasingly gated behind the infrastructure it is supposed to automate;

  • advanced bees and extraction systems remain downstream of legitimate resource acquisition;

  • old infrastructure is intentionally kept useful where possible;

  • ProjectE remains a late-game stress-relief system rather than an early replacement for industry.

The pack remains brutally difficult.

The goal is for the difficulty to come from engineering, survival, logistics, scale, planning and recovery rather than unclear rules.


MILITARY SYSTEMS — 8.4 GROUNDWORK

The military stack is also being cleaned up and consolidated.

  • TACZ is becoming the primary firearms platform.

  • JEG is being removed from the active military stack.

  • Military progression is being pushed further toward real industrial production and logistics.

  • Weapons, ammunition and military expansion are intended to consume the civilian industrial civilization you built rather than exist as an unrelated loot tree.

  • The long-term target is a much more Factorio-like military economy: production capacity matters.

  • Aquamirae is being folded more deliberately into the pack's water-world / hostile-ocean fantasy.

This is groundwork for deeper military integration rather than a separate military campaign replacing the main progression.


POLISH, CLEANUP & STABILITY

A huge amount of work since 8.1b has also happened underneath the player-facing systems.

This includes:

  • removing stale configuration and generated debris;

  • cleaning obsolete compatibility layers;

  • reducing redundant runtime work;

  • strengthening pack validators;

  • cleaning worldgen authority;

  • improving semantic tags and data organization;

  • hardening recipe and Research'd dependencies;

  • improving localization consistency;

  • fixing quest-order and missing-icon issues;

  • tightening export cleanliness;

  • continued boot/world-generation stability work.

These aren't headline features, but they are important for keeping a pack this large maintainable.


THE BIG DIFFERENCE

If you last played 0.8.1b, the biggest change is not that Createch gained another Age.

It is that the existing Ages now belong to each other.

You survive the world.

You learn materials.

You build mechanisms.

You build factories.

You refine petroleum.

You distribute electricity.

You learn chemistry.

You automate plants.

You build control systems.

You construct aircraft.

You establish a space program.

You export your industry to other worlds.

You build machines that contain other machines.

Eventually, the civilization you created becomes capable of engineering reality itself.

0.8.1b proved the Stone → Infinity campaign worked.

0.8.4 is about making the entire journey feel like the history of one civilization.
