Create: Islands in the Sky is a NeoForge 1.21.1 modpack built around the Create: Aeronautics ecosystem. Spawn into a world of floating islands suspended over the void, then design, build, and pilot your own airships to explore, gather, and connect them.

The theme. Cozy vanilla+. Progression is driven by Create — gather, automate, build bigger, fly farther. No magic system bolted on, no kitchen-sink tech tree. Every addon was chosen to deepen Create play or make the skies feel alive.

The core stack.

  • Immersive Aircrafts & Immersive Vehicles — non-Create air and land travel for variety

World generation.
This pack runs on Sky Archipelago by Sathrek as the sole dimension generator — no overworld terrain, no ocean, no nether-style floor. You spawn on a floating island with a small personal aircraft and limited fuel over the void with nothing else to land on. Islands cluster at roughly 40% density across the world; size mix runs small (~24–41 block radius), medium (~42–58), large (~59–75) in even thirds; vertical distribution is weighted toward Y 80–150 with rarer pockets above and below; ocean layer is disabled, so the void below every island is real.

The pack's progression is built around this. Movement between islands is the core problem the mod stack solves: in early game you bridge with what you can carry, by mid-game you're piloting Immersive Aircrafts planes, and by late-game you're designing real Create: Aeronautics airships and powering them with Create: Propulsion engines. Sky Archipelago's worldgen and Aeronautics' physics were built for each other — this pack is the curated stack that ties them together.

Tuning the world. All Sky Archipelago settings are in config/sky_archipelago-common.toml and can be edited per-save. Want denser islands for a tight survival map? Raise islandDensity to 0.7. Want a sky ocean for boats? Set oceanEnabled = true and pick an oceanLevelY. Want bigger continent-scale islands? Push maxIslandRadius toward 128.

Performance & QoL. Sodium, ImmediatelyFast, Iceberg, Embeddium-family optimizations, Xaero's World Map, Crash Assistant, fix-GPU-memory-leak. Tested at [8 GB RAM allocation].

Shaders. Not bundled (Complementary's license doesn't allow it). Install Complementary Reimagined + Euphoria Patches yourself via the official patcher at euphoriapatches.com — works perfectly with this pack.

Language support. Only English for now.
