Mainly focused around the Yung's suite and End Remastered, I put the fun back into the vanilla structures and gave them all a purpose. To facilitate fun, Create and Tetra are there for the tech they provide and Alex's caves are there for smaller bite sized adventures.
Just remember that interacting with every mod I added isn’t necessary to have fun with this modpack, so don't be afraid to take your time. I would also recommend going into each mod blind to have the best experience possible.
Quality of Life:
You might’ve noticed a row of items on the right side of your inventory. The knowledge base known as “JEI” can be used as an upgraded recipe book; left-click an item to see how to make it or right-click an item to see what can be made with it. The search bar at the bottom can be used to look up a specific name of an item, or putting an “@” at the beginning with no space can be used to look all items added from a particular mod.
You may have also noticed that you can hear the other players in the world within talking distance. This is nice for talking to others without a third-party application, but the downside is being unable to maintain communication over long distances. To solve this, all you need is either a Spuddie Talkie or a Tranceiver and a Radiosmithing Station to tune it with. Choose a specific frequency to talk on and whether you want more range or a better quality sound. Make sure to save 500.00 for public communication frequency.
On top of a suite of performance mods, the world looks more lively. Every vanilla mob has had some animation upgrades, including yourself! If you would like your eyes to blink and look around as you move, head over to the “Fresh Moves” mod page for the tutorial on how to set it up.
Pets are a lot stronger than before! Be confident in knowing that your favorite friend can be empowered through enchanted collar tags, and in any case of death, they will be revived in the morning if you set their spawn point to their pet bed. (Domestication Innovation)
“Quark” adds many small features that improve gameplay, like double doors opening together or placing blocks at odd angles without having to look at the face you’re attaching them to. This is the one mod whose website I recommend checking out to see every feature.
Exploration:
The most significant change in regard to the flow of gameplay in the pack would be the inclusion of “End Remastered”, the “Yung” Suite, and “Intergrated Dungeons.” Instead of making ender eyes out of pearls and blaze powder, there are scattered all over the many structures and hidden treasures over the overworld and the nether. If you seek to find them, ensure you are appropriately prepared with tools and supplies, as every vanilla structure has been updated with new foes, traps, and puzzles to solve.
“The Aether” is a new dimension to explore, set in the sky above the overworld, adding many new resources, mobs, tools, and three bosses to defeat. Standard tools won't work as effectively, so make sure to make some using the materials you find there. It’s suggested to look for your first boss fight inside the dungeons of the bigger islands.
How could I make a forge modpack and not include both of Alex’s mods, “Alex’s Mobs” and “Alex’s Caves”? “Alex’s Mobs” adds a ton of in-depth mobs that can act as companions or give materials for unique items and potion effects, with three new bosses to fight. Just make sure you’re properly kitted out. “Alex’s Caves” adds six new extremely rare cave biomes that are so detailed that they can be their own dimensions, with three more bosses. All information regarding each of the mobs found in “Alex’s Mobs” can be found in the two books you spawn with at the beginning, but if you are in the mood for a bit of spelunkery, there will be abandoned shacks deep within caves that will hold the clues on where to find each of the cave biomes. Good luck!
Tools and Food:
“Farmers Delight” and its add-ons add many new crops from all dimensions that can be used to cook better food with better saturation and some with potion effects. To get started, you have to gather the various ingredients: To begin with, tomatoes are in the desert, rice can be found in the waters of jungles and swamps, onions and carrots in temperate biomes, and cabbages along beaches.
“Sophisticated Backpacks” adds very customizable backpacks, so you will never have to worry about carrying capacity again. Just make sure you keep everything organized.
Are you unable to locate a desert, a good source of bamboo, or just a good biome in which to build a base? Input what biome you are searching for into the “Natures Compass” and you will get the closest one within a 10,000 chunk radius. Just don't use it to cheat the location of one of the rare cave biomes :)
“Create” is a potent tool that allows the mechanical manipulation of blocks and automates the farming and collection of every renewable resource in the game, along with a few more (iron, gold, etc.). To learn how to use the blocks in this mod, hold the “w” key while hovering over the block, tool, or item to enable the PONDER feature (it only works on specific blocks, tho).
